Professor McDonough is hands down my favorite professor. Super down to earth and always has a great attitude. As long as you do the readings assigned and show up on peer review days you should be fine. The class overall is 3 essays and a research paper. She gives tons of helpful feedback on everything and if your struggling she will help you out.

She is so kind and doesn't ask a lot of students. just read, engage in discussions about the books we read, and of course write your essays. She reviews about specific grammar and sentence structures which is really helpful as well. She is kind, answers questions, and sometimes lets us out early. She respects that we have lives outside of school.

Professor McDonough is a great teacher. The subject material can be bland at times but McDonough does her best to keep the class engaged. Make sure to pay attention in class because it really helps when it comes time for papers. Her office hours are very accessible and she works with you to make you think about what you are writing.

I took English 10 last semester and the professor failed us all. Taking the course again with Pam was awesome. I love English and was taking 10 as a starting point. For me, it was an easy A. She's a fair grader and gives students every opportunity to succeed. I'll be taking English 100 with her.

Easy class, 4 papers (4-5 pages) and one research paper as a final (8-12 pages) She gives time for essays and reading. However, I would not recommend this class because all she talked about was race. There was no diversity in thought or reading. All essays and readings were practically the same and It got tiring fast.

Prof. McDonough is kind and always willing to help. She is always accessible outside of class. You write four essays (3 to 5 pages) and one research paper (8 to 12 pages). She is definitely a tough grader, I barely passed her class because of it. She allows you to rewrite some essays and gives quizzes on the assigned reading. Don't miss class.

Prof McDonough is great, she is always accessible in office hours for anything that you need help with. She gives great feedback on essays that will help your writing grow. 4 essays + 1 research paper. The essays are based on the books you have to read & also gives easy quizzes for the reading material assigned.

She is a very nice teacher, and is willing to help any student that needs it. I feel her teaching style is very dry and boring, but her niceness makes up for it. Assigns 4 essays (4-6pgs) and 1 research paper (12pgs) as a final. No purchase of textbook. You have to show up to every class and do exactly what she asks for. allows re-do on some papers

Pam is a really strict teacher with a LOT of reading. There are 2-3 essays and 3 tests that you actually have to study for. However, if British Lit is something you're interested in then you will LOVE this class. She is very thorough and her class is based on historical context. You read the usual classics of each era but she is clear and very nice

She's very nice and very very very helpful. She won't even hesitate when you ask for help. I am an international student, which means I am not a native English speaker. I struggled in her class but learn a lot from it. Its not an easy A class, but if you visit her office often and show the draft and go to writing center once a week, you will befine

1) she is VERY critical of your essays 2) open discussions 3) her tests consist of quote identifications; she makes this even more difficult by requiring memorization of dates 4) advice?: don't take her class unless you're willing to work very hard

English is by far my favorite subject and Professor McDonough made me hate every second of class. She is extremely boring and exploits her position as a professor to promote her feminist values.

Keep up on reading- lots of quizzes: they are easy if you do the reading, and they do actually help your grade in her classes. Midterms & Finals are tough, but she is a fair grader. She is passionate about literature and about teaching- a great combo to have. Good office hours to help students, too.

She is extremely smart. She is passionate about her subject. Knows stories like the back of her hand. When she talks, you can't help but to listen because her opinions are so insightful and she backs up her claims interestingly. She is very nice and helpful on office hours and I should add that she grades rather hard but its good she is superb
