At Adelphi University the end of EVERY course you receive a feedback form to give a review for the professor of the course you took. When I asked her when we would receive a form for her class, she laughed at me and said "Me? You don't get to give feedback on me." She can do this because she's the head of the department. Take another course.

Absolutely the worst professor I've ever had to date. Extremely unclear, but has high expectations. Will make you feel stupid for not knowing something, due to her lack of ability to teach it to you. Tenure is really her saving grace, because she is a horrible professor. Would never take a class with her if I were able to avoid it.

Axelrod is very unclear with her instructions yet expects specificity in your work, thus grading can be frustratingly harsh. Make sure you ask lots of questions so you know exactly what she will be testing you on. And take notes! She will assign a big group project, so be prepared. Unfortunately, I suggest avoiding her class when possible.

The worst professor ever. Was habitually unclear on what she wanted from the students, gave us NO hint as to what would be on the midterm or final, is scatter brained, didn't explain concepts well, was not helpful to students, all of which made the class much more stressful than it had to be. SO GLAD she's no longer dept chair she doesnt deserve it

Comment:

Professor Axelrod is the sweetest person you will ever meet, if you are not a total retard. She is kind and lovable. More importantly she has a vested interest in your well-being. She is hardworking and deserves her title as the head of the Political Science Dept- it would not be the same without her. She acknowledges hard work and intelligence.

she expect WAY too much of the class, and rewards you for nothing. no extra credit, even though she makes going into the city mandatory for some assignments. the class is lost when it comes to material, and she is so vague about tests and doesn't get back to emails at all. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASSES SHE IS A TERRIBLE TEACHER!!!!

A really bad teacher - biased and opinionated and vindictive. I got an A because I faked that I liked her but two boys in the class that did the work and wanted to have honest discussions about her political views received C's on their papers even though they were excellent - and D's on the class participation part of the grade.

If you have any Conservative thoughts, keep your thoughts to yourself. She is quite Liberal and lets her student know that from the start. She is not a hard teacher, yet does play major favorites. Be polite, and just throw back the info she gives you on the tests. Be nice to her, and you'll be fine with a C+ through A grade, if you do the work.

Prof. Axelrod is probably one of the most useless humans let alone professors on the face of the earth. She is beyond reproach and as many people have stated earlier any good comments on this page are admittedly written by her. Professor Axelrod does have her favorites within her class, and within her department. She is very set within her views and therefore obviously will throw her entire knowledge of the subject on you if you tend to disagree. Overall like an tenured professor she is set in her ways. Very intelligent, and somewhat snobbish at times.

Useless Teacher who doesn't kno up from down I don't care what anyone says this woman does not know what she is talking about. Im sorry I hate this woman she is a terrible teacher she doesn't make any sense. She grades students on there views and is currentLy failing me because of what I say in class she is an admitted socialist and hateS conservatives and anyone who opposes her also if ur in the Honors College don't take her she hates the Honors College. This is for the introduction to Political Science. She taught this class very poorly. She wasted probably half of the available classes prepping us for a 3-4 page paper due at the end of the semester. She used maybe two chapters out of the book. She holds the students hands a little bit too much, to the detriment of all who want to learn.
