DS2 is bewilderingly hard, it will make you hate engineering. It is probably the hardest class you will take as an ME. He knows the subject extremely well, but does a very poor job of communicating the relevance of the material to students. He does not explain his examples very well at all, so expect to teach the methods to yourself frm the cribs.

Good Professor. It will be a confusing class if you have him and Prof. Chandran at the same time. Both have different teaching styles. He will go off topic pretty much most of the time and has very distinct smile. Take good notes and understand the stuff. You will be just fine!

This dude is sweet. Most people hate him because he can be slow and repetitive at times and then put the peddle to the metal at other times. The bad thing is his fast pace moments usually come during the most complicated portions of the class usually at the end of the term when he realizes he is running out of time.

He knows his stuff and has reasonable expectations for his students. I would recommend you learn the material and do the hw but I just learned off the cribs he provided and memorized the problems step by step. You can re-take each competency up to three times and you should do really well if you study and show up to class.

In every instance that help was sought from this professor, rather than explain the concept in simple terms, he seemed to explain it in as complex and as cerebral a manner as possible within the limits of his own intellect.

Comment:
Lundstrom, "the subscript king," has gotta be the most boring person walking this planet. His class consists of about 2 hrs of complete rambling about nothing. All he does is rattle off equations on ppt slides while teaching nothing. Right now he's talking about go-karts. Avoid if you can.

His lectures are boooring as hell. You really have to keep yourself occupied while hes going through all of his algebraic manipulation or setting up his simulink stuff because it takes forever (he is old, afterall). BUT, he is very helpful and explains things quite clearly when asking him for help. He genuinely cares about you learning the subject.

More approchable than Ram but gives vague help and usually sends you to Ram anyways. Was VERY merciful on grading a competency. Nice man. Not a good prof. The class is WAY too difficult.

This guy taught with Chandran but never ever gave a lecture himself. He didnt help, only pawned everyone off on Chandran. The portfolio's are his idea but he dumps all the work on Chandran who takes all the student complaning.

Team taught with Chandran. He only lectured us 5% of the time and just made things more confusing. "Labs" have very unclear but real expectations. Curve is worthless because most students use cribs on test and lab projects.

Prof Lundstrom is very methodical, and steps though examples so I could understand. A bit quirky, but a very good prof.
