I took his stats class online over the summer and as someone who is terrible at math, Mr. Sakamoto really took his time to make sure no one gets left behind in his class. Make sure you take advantage of his practice problems before tests!

I failed this class because of his teaching style. The tests are extremely difficult and they feel different from what you studied. Half of the class cheated on one of the exams. Normally math is my best subject but I failed in this class. Your grade relies heavily on these tests so good luck passing. He doesn't give enough to review for the exams

worst math professor i've ever had. he goes over things way too fast. he acts like he's willing to help but makes it very intimidating and almost scary when you do. you aren't going to pass if you don't do well on the tests. good luck studying for those, we have review sessions but he doesn't give a formal answer sheet for the review problems.

The majority of the grade you'll receive in the class is based on unit exams, which were really difficult. There is no extra credit and none of the tests are going to be dropped so you have to make sure you do well on the exam. I personally did not do well with his teaching style. If you want to get an A in calculus, don't take this class.

Professor Sakamoto is my favorite math teacher thus far. He explains everything clearly and allows a cheat sheet for the tests. As long as you pay attention, attend every class, do the homework, and reach out when you need help, you will pass.

He is an amazing professor!! I was never good at math until I took him for Statistics. Beware that it is a challenging class that wont be easy to pass unless you put the work in. Participate in class and be involved!! That will help a lot in understanding the concepts. Take MASH and any help you can get. Otherwise he is super funny and caring.

Tests are uber hard, the stuff you do for notes and homework may not look like what are on the tests. The tests will also be like 90% of your grade. No review of the material on the final and it was given a 2 days after the chapter 5 test, hope you studied the right material to pass.

Professor Sakamoto has a great knowledge of statistics. He provides a notes outline that students must print out with and is recommended to fill out during his lecture. Homework is from the book and he creates his own test. There were three tests and a final given. I personally found the tests very challenging.

(2/2) When testing is near, there's lots of homework - project (not really a project, just like practice q's), regular hw, and actual practice q's so be aware of that. You go over them the day before the test. If you don't do practice q's and project, he'll make you leave so you won't hear the answers to them. Overall, TAKE HIM. He's caring + kind.

(1/2) Although visually impaired, Scott is amazing! He helped me a lot in MaSH. Lectures were great but after every test, you have to print out loads of papers (notes for the class). 3 Tests, 1 final. 1 Cheat sheet, front and back for tests, and 2 for final. OH, he's super funny.

As a person, profoessor sakamoto is great! but for me, I couldnt keep up with his teaching /:. There was a ton of homework and you have to print out 75 pages of notes a month (not exaggerating). If youre a fast learner, then hes great (:. If youre like me and have trouble with math, maybe take a different teacher.

Sakamoto is a good professor, but make sure to pay attention in class. I took him over the summer so make sure to have your text book the first day of class, you will need it for hw. If you take his class with an additional class it will be challenging. Allows 1 cheat sheet (front&back) for exams and 2 cheat sheets for final exam.

Heres the truth: Ive never gotten an A on any of my math exams EVER. Sakamoto does such an amazing job at teaching that I got As on his exams... I couldnt believe it. I wanted to cry! An A on a calc exam? So surreal. Just finished my summer math 180 course with him today. All I can say is, take Sakamoto.. listen to him and appreciate him. :)

Professor Sakamoto was often unorganized and his lectures were confusing. He usually went through the lectures too fast. Several times I asked him to clarify math examples from his lectures. All he would say is, look in the textbook. I barely passed the class. I wouldn't recommend this teacher for Calculus.

Scott is a really nice guy who clearly cares about his students. He is easily one of the most knowledgeable and intelligent professors I have ever had instruct a class, and he makes lectures bearable with his humor. The class is extremely difficult due to the heavy content, so dedicate plenty of time to studying and practicing. Find a study group!

Sakamoto is helpful, humble, approachable, and funny too, lectures are straightforward but his writing can be messy. No SI or quizzes, unfortunately, so study in a group to raise your chances for each test. Tests are no joke. Do HW, get extra help, and if u think u already know it, practice anyway. It's not easy but it is possible to pass.

Sakamoto is so brilliant that he doesn't understand that students are learning the material for the first time so I spent many hours in tutoring to get a separate instructors take on the subject. Study guides are exactly like the test so make sure to study those. Allows front and back cheat sheets on all tests and 2 for final, take advantage!

Second time taking Calc 3. Excellent teacher. He's very funny and engages with the class. Has notes you can follow along with. Tests aren't insanely difficult and he's VERY transparent about what's going to be on them. I wish I could have had him for all of my math classes.
