Comment:

Arrogant is the last word I would ever use to describe this man. Go to his office hours once and he remembers your name forever. Not to mention whatever you got out of his office hours was probably invaluable. He is the best professor I've ever had. Lectures are interesting and he finds creative fun ways to incorporate you. Definitely take it!

I can't believe anyone thinks he's arrogant! I've spoken with him outside of class quite a bit and I find him to be extremely caring and helpful. I find his lectures to be intense at times but fascinating. He's really great at dissecting what we're learning about and then painting the larger picture of what it all means. TAKE THIS CLASS!

His lectures were painful, very boring and pretty random. I pretty much wanted to bash my head on my desk the whole time. The course materials didn't flow well together, although I did learn some stuff. I had a hard time putting the readings with the lectures. This man is brilliant, but he really can't teach.

Difficult class, you have to really work for an A. But with that said, Stern is VERY knowledgeable, passionate, and dedicated to his work. Great professor, great class, the subject doesn't interest you, this class might not be for you.

Stern is one of the best prof i've ever had. His Intro to Latin America is amazing! It is a very tough class so if you're not willing to work, stay out, but if you are it is a great experience. I'd recommend this class to anyone interested in the subject
