Comment:

Professor Robinson takes a different approach to teaching. He is a facilitator while you are in groups of 3-4. You work through your activities and come to a class consensus on different ideas and topics. There are individual tests as well as a group test over each unit. Overall, it was an easy class. Make sure to study for the final though!

Comment:

Overall hes alright. However, his class does not prepare you for the tests that they give. They give practice test that do not resemble the difficulty of the actual exam at all. He does not really teach. He will just talk and walk around the class room. Always leaves questions unanswered. I usually make all As and Bs but made a C in his class.

I absolutely love him! This class is long and boring but if you just sit and do the work you will make an easy A.

I took Dr. Robinson for ASTR1010 and 1020. He was a phenomenal professor and I greatly enjoyed the classes. He almost always wrapped up class early and if you had questions he would take the time to explain the answers.

For concepts of physics, if you understand basic stuff you'll get an A. Its like constant group work and super simple. Just show up and participate. GET THE "books," they are required, it is what you do every class

Dr. Robinson is awesome! He is always more than willing to help. The class itself is long and uninteresting, in my opinion, but it is more than manageable.

I really enjoyed his Astronomy class. Lectures make up most of the class with interactive questions via smartphone, tablet or laptop. The lab work is pretty easy as long as you think it through and he does allow for make ups if you miss. Classes are not mandatory as the PowerPoint is online but would not recommend just blowing it off.

Comment:

I had him for Astronomy. He is super knowledgeable and professional, and treats people kindly and respectfully. Class is usually 90-120 min which can be a drag, labs are super easy. 4 exams, 10 multiple choice and 5 short answer questions. They are hard to study for because his Powerpoints aren't very helpful. I recommend Astronomy as a Science.

The class is not awful and he does a really good job of teaching. He is very easy to talk to and get in touch with. There is a lot of group work in and out of class, but he is understanding if you go to him about a problem with a group member (one person will not kill the groups grade if you explain what is going on before hand).

Dr Robinson is a great teacher. This class was pretty simple. There's no textbook just a workbook that you will need everyday. The tests can be pretty difficult but he's good with partial credit! Recomend!

If you aren't a good test taker, good luck passing this class. His tests are ridiculous essay question tests, and the correct answer isn't enough to get it right. Class average on every test was a low D.

Loved this class. He always let out early and you do stuff in groups so you don't hear lecture 24/7....he's so nice and will help if you ask. Don't buy the book he gives you what you need...not that hard if you put forth effort....I recommend him!

He's British and interactive in class, which keeps you engaged. The labs never last the whole time and he really tries to make it fun. I really enjoyed this class other than my TA. She graded everything really harshly, but he has a lot of aspects tied into his point system. Bombing one thing won't kill your grade. Would recommend.

Loved this class! No textbook, just a workbook you use every day. I loved the style of this class and Dr. Robinson was a wonderful teacher. You definitely have to think for yourself because he will not just tell you the answers. Go to class and pay attention. I easily got an A. So helpful for future teachers. And loved his accent!

Loved Dr. Robinson. Hated the class. Don't buy the book: You use packets he hands out daily. The quizzes aren't too bad if you study. The tests are kinda difficult. He is so helpful, though, and I went to class just to hear the accent. He's nice and understanding. I felt like I was lost all semester and made an A in the class! If I can, anyone can!

I hated this class! He writes his own textbook and never explains anything. He expects you to figure it out. You have to double check everything because he messes a lot of stuff up. His tests are nothing similar to in-class lecture or practice exams. You never get your tests back to know what you missed either.

Dr. R is a very clear/knowledgeable teacher. If you work hard on the hw and attend class, you will do good in his class. He makes the subject interesting, and his labs are great. I really love it that his labs and lectures are together... that way you apply it as you go.

very hard class. test difficult if you do not study well. you could skip class and get notes online if there wasnt a lab that day. but u have to go to lab when there is one. he's very smart, cool accient. just the class was hard. also he didnt return labs for you to study for the test on time either.

He's a good professor, that knows his stuff. His homework, quizzes, and labs are fairly interesting and fun. i enjoyed his lectures. BUT his test are brutal. So be prepared for them. Super nice guy, good lectures, gives basically NO extra credit, don't buy the book.
