Knowledgable prof, teaches what's necessary. You don't really need to go to class for this course because tutorial/lab/group project account for most of your grade but whenever I went I didn't regret going.

Classes were taught well and grading was very fair. There was nothing that would catch you off guard if you attended lecture/tutorial.

Great teacher very clearly wants to take the time so that everyone understands whats going on. Often does lengthy problems in class so its good to go to them. Tutorials were incredibly helpful in understanding the lecture material. Great teacher, great labs, papa johns.

Great course, loved the material, Doyle gets alot of flak but I feel like hes an amazing teacher. He obviously cares about us learning and really goes deep with the material. The Labs are really hard but nothing un-managable.

Had him for 2di4 and 2dp4 and I'm sad that he isn't teaching upper year courses. He kept it professional and his notes were great even if the lectures were a little bland.

Great guy! He's really helpful if you dont understand things. His exam and his midterms are crazy easy. As long as you go to class and just pay attention, you will do well. I took bare minimum of notes in his lectures. Just listened and everything made sense.

I had Dr. Doyle for both 2DI4 and 2DP4. He is a great Professor who has a very fair system of assessments. Lecture attendance is highly recommended - his midterm and exam questions are mainly from lectures, tutorials and labs. I'd also recommend going to tutorials or at least following them on your own as they provide substantial help in labs.

You gotta attend lectures and pay attention if you wanna get a 12. The exam was extremely easy and the questions were the EXACT SAME as the practice questions done in the lectures. Labs took a lot of time, but they are a lot of fun. Amazing course!

As long as you go to class, pay attention to what he says, take good notes and do the lab properly this class is an easy class. Also the tutorials were very well done by Omar.

The final project is a lot of work. He was very confusing as to what was required in the project. His lectures are very dry. The lab portion of this course requires practice to do well, and the tutorial tests portion also take some practice. Put some work in this course and you can do well.

You had to make an appointment to see him, and it never fit into any of my group's schedule. The material is boring and wasn't explained fully. The TA's are good though.

Dr. Doyle gave us a fantastic 'cap-stone' project for first year Engineering. We used 3D printers to do prototyping... Problem was if you didn't go and talk to the TAs frequently about the details of the project, I'm sure you would be totally lost. Very exciting, although very confusing.

He is a nice in person, but his class is terrible. You pay big buck to learn something you could learn in autoshop back in school, and from textbook. Attendance is marked. Labs are easy. Tutorials are ok. Practice available - none. Textbooks - useless, only cover first half of the course. Dc. Doyle does provide a lot of help with TAs and in person.
