She's quirky and respects hard work. Participate in class and give intellectual answers. Very open and fun professor. You work all semester on building one paper. Other factors go into your grade. Definitely recommend. I would even take her again. Made me want to dig deeper into my topic not bc I needed to but bc I wanted to.

For this semester (Fall 2014) we had to do 4 critiques (2-3pages), a proposal, and a final research paper (with draft). She lets you redo the first 3 critiques as many times as you want, so take advantage of that. The articles you do for your critiques are will be used in your research paper, so choose wisely Wish she was teaching expo2

Other professors of expo 1 give little work outside of class. I had 3 articles to read every night, a 3 page critique due each week, and an ongoing 12 page term paper. She makes you think there's no homework and then emails it out later. Also, I thought her instructions were always way too vague. Tough grader, only passed because I'm a good writer.

I absolutely loved her class! She is vague in the beginning about how she would like the essays written but it actually made me a better writer at the end of the semester! She's funny and very knowledgable

Shes kinda weird and talks a lot but the class isn't that bad. shes a kinda tough grader but as long as you're a decent writer, you won't fail. assigns lots of stories to read but unless you raise your hand to talk about it, she wont call on you so you dont even have to read them

Nice teacher, not very strict. She only took attendance the first week or two of class to get to know people's names. The workload wasn't too bad, just A LOT of reading.. Only two papers and a presentation. The material we read was interesting so I liked the class overall.
