I chose Dr. Connell for an independent study in Medieval history. I wasn't too pleased with the class. Even though I could build the class myself, I had no clue how well I was doing because he never returned my papers except for my final paper. I was hoping for a more engaging experience since Medieval history is Dr. Connell's specialty.

I was really disappointed with this class and Dr. Connell. I was very excited to take this class about The English Heritage. However, his lectures consisted of him just reading the sources sentence by sentence and explaining them. Most boring and useless hour and a half of my life. Since attendance was only 50 points, I stopped going.

I was very excited for this class at the beginning of the semester. By the end of it, i was fed up. Professor Connell isn't bad, its just dull and boring, and a lot of the work is just pointless. He can also be rude when grading papers. But it is an easy class.

I must say I really disagree with the other students about the boring part, I find him utterly facsinating. How can one so knowledgable be boring? If you're a history major and can't get enough of the subject,you will love his class and appreciate such a great professor.

His class isn't the most exciting experience you'll ever have, but he really knows his stuff and he's very understanding. He's a really good person to know in the History department, because he'll remember you and go to bat for you if you need it, so I'd suggest him, even if it's sometimes boring.

Dr. Connell is a nice guy and certainly knowledgable about his subject matter, but he is very boring and has a nervous demeanor when lecturing. His vocal pauses drove me crazy at times. All in all, though, not too bad a class--I still learned in it.

Two of Dr. Connell's nicknames: "Father Connell" and "Captain Neutral." He is certainly knowledgeable, but you will probably never have a less engaging professor. One of the most boring profs I've had. His class is relatively easy,
