He's the only professor within the online masters in applied data science program truly cares about improving his class. I've been able to apply his teachings immediately at my work, definitely a good resource for data engineering.

fudge is funny but learning to code is like learning another language and not everyone can just do it. tests are hard and you have to code by hand for them.

Comment:

Definitely one of the most innovative classes I've had. Unfortunately the problem I (and most students had) is that you can't teach a programming class in a large lecture setting. It just doesn't work out for students who struggle. Other than that he is very savvy in his subjects, has online videos for more help, and very helpful one on one.

Strap in your helmets and get ready for the weirdest semester of your life. This class is homework and participation heavy, you'll think it's easy at first but oh no just you wait. Lectures are straight out of the textbook, give you no help whatsoever if you've never coded before but God bless the TAs (there's a lot of them), they're why I passed.

He gives too much difficult homework, and does not help you in office hours. Gets upset if you don't understand the material. Don't take this class(even though he is the only professor who teaches it and it is required)

Passionate about the subject he's teaching. Works hard to make it as interactive as possible and give us as much material to work with. Class is hard in and of itself but he cares about the students. I had a laptop malfunction in the middle of the semester and he went far above and beyond to make sure I was back on track and didn't have to drop.

An absolute awful teacher. He made java extremely hard to learn and his tests were terrible. First thing is he doesn't even teach the class to you. He makes you watch 25-30 long videos that he has made on youtube and then the tests don't even follow that information and you must read the online book and teach your self before each test.

Professor Fudge is hands down the worst Professor I have ever had at the iSchool. Have never had a problem with any professors before him. TAKE ANY OTHER JAVA SECTION (you will thank me). Grading structure is awful, (3.6 GPA and ended up with a C-). Do not take this washed up computer science professor who came from Bryant & Stratton

Professor Fudge made me fall in love with database... He is kinda of corny sometimes but his passion for database and teachings are amazing. I swear if you take this class, you won't regret. Plus, if you have any questions or concerns- he meets regularly/responds very quick. <3
