Dr. Edward Martin is my life saver. i was struggling with ACC3100 , i took it on summer before his class and drop. As people always says "dont judge a book by its cover". when i met him on 1st day 1st second, i thought i have to switch the class, but after the 1st lecture with him, i know i can do it, and i finally save to stay with Zicklin.

Tough exams. Examples handed out in class are nothing similar to what you will see in the final; therefore, you will have to a lot of reading on your own, which is something I had to find out the hard way. Besides his difficult exams, he is a great human being. Very inspirational and will make you want to work harder.

ACC3100 is itself hardest class, and prof Martin is also tough professor, but you definitely will learn a lot about accounting in his class. He is funny, care about his students and make materials easy to understand. Two exam and both of them are hard and you have to study for it. Never ever depend on TB for his class because he makes his exams.

Not good for you, if you want to protect your high GPA like 3.5 or above He loves to assign F On the first day of the class, he said, "he only assigned 2 As last semester." I was like maybe the students were bad, but I figure out no matter how you believe you are at accounting, he will make you feel worst about yourself

I've dropped this course before because I realized my critical thinking skills sucked. The professor doesn't make you spend hours and hours reading endless pages or practice countless problems. He gives you a set number of worksheets/answers but you have to understand them as a WHOLE. I wish I could type more but the character limit in ratemypro

ACC3100 is hard! HW, midterm & final is on acc paper. Questions are not that hard if you understand the examples in class and the HW. He will point out all your grammar mistakes but he does not grade on it if it is minor mistakes like capitalization. He does not test a lot of the stuff the other prof & the textbook teaches. SO ATTEND ALL LECTURES!

Take this class if you want to get atleast a B, lectures were amazing, reviews questions before every exam. Super lenient on grading, he just wants to see you try. Explains clearly and very understandable. Uses the same exam each semester, you can find someone who took his class before to get his previous exams and just memorize it

He is a solid choice for accounting. Gives partial credit on exams and curves. Homework was on connect and relatively similar to his exams.

2 exams. All written response. Hard. Grades harshly, takes off points for minor details. Very tricky. Would not recommend.

His lectures are very good. However, he uses the same hw assignments, midterms, and finals semester after semester. You will have people in your group who have all the solutions and you will be graded on a forced distribution curve (only top 20% A). This doesn't add any value to Baruch-educated accountants. Very strict grader as well. Avoid him.

First off, DO NOT skip class, or you have NO chance. Take LOTS of notes. Study ALL his handouts. Midterm and final is 90% of your grade. Exams are FAIR, he does NOT curve. I did not study much, and got an A. But I was very engaged in class. Gives partial credit. For exams, DO NOT neglect minor details, it's how you lose points. GREAT guy.

I am a junior and 4.0 student until I took this course. I got A on cost accounting, but I received C+ on this course. I put exactly the same time effort. I never received A- or B grade in my life. But C+? I got 87/100 on mid term. It should be ended with B at least. Do not take this course. Extremely hard course. Im telling you.

its not an easy class! you can easily pass this class with C because he gives out points for the format! however if you want decent grade you have to work EXTRA hard and and you need to know everything about the topic he teaching. only 2 tests and few homework. Take him if you finance major and just want to pass! Accounting major remember your 2.5

He teaches very well and his handouts and class problems are fair! however his tests are mixed for everything with whole another level! also he has one midterm and final! if you mess up one you are pretty much messed up! So do very well on both classes.

Professor Martin is a great professor. He has a good sense of humor and makes you enjoy accounting classes. Yet his exams are tough. He takes points off from everywhere, such as dollar signs, dotted or double lines, capitalization and abbreviation. You have to be very careful about writing when taking exam, otherwise you cannot get good grade.

no doubt he is a great professor but his tests are extremely tough! its nothing like his homework and all the handouts he gave out! you would have to know above and beyond what he teaches in class! because its a gate keeper for accounting major he makes it difficult he said that in class.

Comment:
Accounting 3100 is a difficult course but Professor Martin makes it much more interesting. His midterm and final consist of mostly short answer questions relating to the handouts he gives. However, don't make the mistake of just memorizing the problems on the handouts because the exam questions require much more in dept knowledge.
