Insecure because he's not a real academic -- only knows what he's done personally, so can only teach you to be play and act just like him. He creates a decent environment for free improvisation but really, how hard is that? Hates college but happy to collect the paycheck.

Very divisive figure. Good teaching methods, but tends to be overly controversial (it's like he teaches by being devil's advocate!) Great ideas, but his attitude towards institutionalized learning is too narrow. Why teach if you don't like the process you're partaking in?

Fred is the coolest professor. Take Cross Currents in Rock Music and you will listen to a lot of really cool music. Fred also is a good source for stories about the music industry and all the people he's collaborated with. Aces.
