Awesome class. He is super interesting and very good at giving an insight to the European mindset. Go to class with an open mind.

Comment:
Completely cray in the best of ways. Initially, I was really offended by his persistent "close-minded American" comments. I then realized he a master at trolling his students. He likes to stir things up. His unique teaching style is refreshing and a nice break from the norm. Certainly an entertaining class.

Irreverent, unorthodox and unpredictable, and still loveable in his own churlish way. A lot of reading, but only 3 tests, one question each, write a coherent response on the same sheet, use the back if necessary. Not a hard class if you like to listen. He begs for participation, but he might cut you off. Still, he cracked me up and I loved him.

Prof Candella is an extremely intelligent and unique man. He cares deeply for his students and wants to ensure that they are learning and understanding. He also cares deeply for the material itself. I have had him for 3 different courses and though they have been unconventional, I have learned so much. He is also extremely compassionate & hilarious

Irreverent & idiosyncratic guy. Fairly entertaining but can be on the annoying side. Fair grader if you put even minimal effort into the essay. Class is entirely based on 5 essays. Need to attend class, reading his homemade book is only worthwhile if you want the extra info, not neccesary.

Fantastic, passionate, and bizarre. Candela is a tough grader if you can't write; however, if you can use basic analytic skills and compose a stylish, tight paper, his Italian Cinema class is a breezy, diverting class. Highly recommended.

This is the nicest, funniest, strangest teacher youll ever have. Techincally he is brain damaged after a jockey incident, but hes really smart. At first i hated him and thought he was annoying, but he definitely grows on you. Ask him about his dog, Mussolini.

The worst Italian class I ever took. He was rude, loud and obnoxious, and would rather talk about Osama Bin Ladin, and the fact that he's from Sicily than anything else. Never knew what grades were in class. Think he may be certifiably insane--loves to tell you how he fell off a horse and is crazy.

By far, one of the best teachers I have had in my life. Is very well traveled, well read, well educated. He teaches more than what's in the book, and inspires independent thought. He is a blast!!

I agree. He is crazy, but hilarious. He kept the class from being quiet and boring. Sometimes i learned more from reading the book and I never knew what grade I had, but always an interesting class. He always went off on tangets which was annoying.
