He is almost 80 y.o. He has a vast of experience, but I think uses the class to get out of his home. I chose his class because the others were full. I received an A but I wanted to learn how to write better; I did not. I am worry about taking ENGWR 301 due to lack of preparation. The book he uses is awesome!

This class will bore you to death. You won't learn anything. He's about 70 y.o. We can hardly hear his voice because of this. What we do everyday is discuss the essays we were assigned to read in the text book prior to the day. If the class doesn't participate he will call on random people or assign an in class essay. He often talks about his past

Way too easy! If you want to actually learn something, I don't recommend this teacher. You have to write very informally. He seems like he should be a junior high school English teacher instead of a college professor. I only recommend him if you want an easy A without gaining anything from the course. Be prepared for boring lectures, though.

Very knowledgeable professor! He has many interesting stories to tell. Very easy professor! You will pass his class flying colors if you do the reading and you write your essays from personal experience! He hates essays that repeat the previous reading, so make sure you don't do that! Aside from that, totally recommend this professor!

DON'T take this class if you want to learn how to write. Inclass writing every week, never grade your paper nor give any feedback. Half-way through the class and I have no idea what grade I'm having. He let us leave early every lesson and doesn't teach us anything.

if you want an easy class and an easy A most def take this.. few take home essays and some in class, just make sure you follow the rubric of having your OWN opinion in your essays= A. the can write**** and you get an A. sometimes drags on about his life but its okay... just bring your computer since its boring sometimes. somewhat rec this class

Knox is very knowledgeable and has a lot to say. Class discussions aren't too bad, he talks a lot but it's all pretty interesting. He's an easy A I think. We wrote about 6/7 essays and read a lot from the text. Overall, he's pretty awesome.

Probably in his late 70's early 80's. Very nice and smart instructor but hard to get a hold of outside of class. He doesn't have email or a phone number where you can reach him. VERY boring class! He makes you read short essays from a book and then takes up the whole next class re-reading them all to you. Likes class discussion.

Do not take!!! Lectures the whole class and often goes off topic! Makes you read hard essays in a book and doesn't explain them. He wants you to adapt to his writing style so don't even think about writing how you want to. His in class exams are hard and he always needs to be in class. Don't think about leaving class early cause he'll question you.

His way of teaching english writing is by making you read multiple stories and then learning how to write from the stories. he waste his lechtures on discussing the stories with the class and stating his opinion on the story rather than actually teaching the cla

He is a very intelligent person, you just have to listen hard to see where he's going with what he's saying. Sometimes you might think he is way off, but he ties it in, and remember class discussions, if you use examples from class discussions, he seems to like that.
