Show up to class no matter what! If a lot of people are missing, he will notice and give people there extra credit. It's an easy A overall. Very straightforward class and no textbook. All material is online.

He almost never talks about the material in class - gets side tracked and you learn little to nothing. It's very easy. The median grade for our midterm was a 97%. If you have any background in linguistics, this class is an easy A but a waste of time, I barely went to class.

He rambles in class and almost never talks about the material. He's always off on a tangent. On the plus side, the material itself is very easy and if you look over the slides on your own, you'll be fine. You get a cheat sheet for the tests, so it's entirely possible to get a good grade.

The class was incredibly easy. There is no textbook necessary. Everything you need is online. You get cheat sheets for the midterm and final. The guy is funny and the course is easy. TAKE THIS CLASS

Terrible teacher but incredibly easy class. He posts the midterm/final study guides last minute but all you have to do is write down all the terms on your cheat sheet to do well. He just talks aimlessly in class and you can find everything needed for the exams online.

a class that you can skip periodically. the ta taught me more than professor did. it was really easy, get cheat sheets and there's a curve.

This is a class you can skip periodically and do well lol because the notes are online, and hes a bad speaker. I mean, he is interesting, nice and funny, but you dont learn anything. you must go to discussion. You get 1 cheat sheet for exam 1 and 2 for exam 2... questions from exam 1 are recycled.. you get exam 1 back you see where im going?

Take this class with anybody other than Boster if you can. On the positive side, he obviously is very knowledgeable, but is incapable of transmitting that information to students. Goes off on tangents, ridicules students, and makes obnoxious tests. Go to the review sessions and make your review sheet based on what he tells you and you'll get an A.

He has a tendency to go on tangents but a lot of the times they were funny and interesting. I would say Lecture is mandatory. He tries really hard to reward people who attend lecture. (e.g pop quizzes where you write your name, revealing test answers etc). Sometimes things could get confusing but he would always clarify if necessary

Lectures were unorganized. Professor often went on tangents. Cheat sheets for midterm and final. Curved on a B+. Project grade was based on participation. There was an extra credit assignment worth .5%. The discussion teachers were very helpful and friendly. They organized study sessions before both exams. Quizzes given in discussion. No book.

He loves what he does and has good intentions, but he often gets side-tracked in lectures. There is no book for the class, and you get to bring cheat sheets to the exams so this is about the easiest class you can take. Some of the material is interesting, but you don't get to the study of humans until after the midterm.

Extremely boring class and awful teacher. During lecture, he rants about whatever he feels like and does not teach. Attending lecture isn't necessary, but going to discussion is- that's where you learn everything. You get one cheat sheet for the mid term and two for the final. Exams are fairly easy, and the project is easier.

He has generally good intentions but he's not at very goal-oriented or organized. Lectures can be generally frustrating but you don't have to go to them to pass the class. The TAs really help in discussion (but even my TA admitted he's pretty much all over the place.) Yes you get a cheat sheet for the exam. Not really suggesting this class.

I love this material and his research is of interest, but that didn't translate to full understanding of lectures, they were tough. I studied and did well on semi-tough exams. One hears rumors of unprofessionalism, particularly with females, so honors conversions and individual projects are ill advised.

The lectures are entertaining but I find myself learning most of the class material in discussions because he tends to go on tangents during lectures. As long as you go through his notes online before the exams the class is very manageable.

I dont suggest this class, its not for the average student. most of the material is boring and difficult to understand. the plus is that he lets you bring a cheat sheet to the exams. the midterm was difficult, the final was a breeze for some reason. he calls on random people and tends to be a rude person.

Don't take this class! It is easily the worst class I've ever taken. He didn't actually teach anything useful; this class wasn't anywhere near as interesting as it could have been. What was emphasized in class was not on the exams; most of the time was spent on tangents that had very little to do with the subject matter at hand.
