Dobek is a blast. Always willing to answer questions, even if they don't have to do with the class. Encourages questioning anything and everything. He might be an alien though.

One of the best profs ever. He is hysterical, very knowledgeable, and is able to get an entire room full of kids excited about space. Even if it's not required for your major, take him just to broaden your horizons!!!

Comment:

Professor Dobek was an excellent instructor and very knowledgable. It's important to know going in that the Big Bang, though admitted that it's a theory is treated as fact (so if you personally don't believe in the Big Bang, it's good to be prepared for that). Overall, a great class, and Prof. Dobek made lectures interesting, and often, hilarious.

Jerry's awful jokes may kill you, but I appreciated that he likes to have fun and he really wants you to pass. There is some math to this class but he'll get you through it. His tests are fantastic for test anxiety!

Probably my favorite teacher so far! He covers advanced topics in a way that's easy to understand (with plenty of jokes), and he clearly cares about what he does and about encouraging people to learn. Always willing to work with you outside of class and provide you with extra learning opportunities if you're interested.

Great instructor, and just great guy all around. He really appreciates the students that come to class and at least give it a try. If you do that, he'll get you the rest of the way. He may indeed be an astrophysicist, but when someone loves what they do (teaching) as much as he does, they'll change your life.

Jerry is an extremely comprehensive teacher who will always make himself available to you. He is passionate about his job and literally works to serve you. If you pay attention in class, take notes, and ask questions, you will pass with a 4.0. Try to soak up everything you can and enjoy the class. It's a fun one that you won't want to miss out on.

Jerry is a great professor! He's crazy smart and definitely knows his stuff. Not to mention, he's hilarious which makes spending 4 hours in his Astronomy class more bearable. Difficult class in general, but Jerry's definitely the best guy to teach it. Lots of interesting material!
