He is an awesome teacher, I had him about a year ago and still remember him. I don't recommend sitting in the back of the room because he is a little shy the first classes and speaks softly. He should be more confident in his teaching because he really is great. Easy and really nice if you ever have questions. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Dr. Shaver appears to genuinely care about the ability of his students to learn. He is always approachable for further clarification. Quizzes are straight from the reading and he even posts review sheets weekly to assist students. One of the best teachers I have been taught by at UConn. I will highly recommend him in the future.

One of the best professors I have had. He is dedicated about what he talks about. Very clear about information that he wants you to know. Understands that everyone is busy and respects that. Overall, I would highly recommend taking a class with him. You won't regret it.

Def. a cool teacher. Understands that you have other class, lets u out early occassionally. no need for textbook, quizzes u can ace if u pay attention in class. first test is easier than second, but both pretty simple...all multiple choice. sometimes lectures too much but fun, young guy, who relates well to students. ask him about fiji!

Got an unexpected A. I think my class had it easy since he was just about to get his PhD - future generations will probably see a much more intense shaver. rubbed me the wrong way, but good teacher, generous with his time.
