I have no idea how his ratings aren't higher. He knows more about baseball than anyone. It's nearly impossible to get below a B if you give ANY effort. Nice guy. Interesting class. A's are doable.

Attendance was mandatory but the lectures were fun enough to sit through. You learned a lot about baseball, but at the end of the semester he was kind of on cruise control. The class is divided into teams where you have to pick a player from that region, which was OK. And make sure you get A's on your papers if you want to get an A in the class.

Professor Thompson is passionate about baseball, but his random humor, moodiness, and arbitrary grading made this class hell. I learned a lot, but even baseball - a passion of mine - was not enough to ease the suffering I endured in his class. This class is not an easy A, and Thompson is arbitrary in everyway, not to mention downright mean inperso

I took "Baseball in Global Perspective" as an easy 5th class to boost my GPA. It requires more work than most "easy" classes, but if you like baseball you'll be perfectly fine. Thompson is a legend in every sense of the word. The man has forgotten more about baseball than most will ever know, and his unintentional comedy rating is off the charts.

It's true what they say, don't skip class! I signed up for this class thinking it would be something completely different but upon the first day of class I just enjoyed his lecture so much that I continued to take it even if it wasn't what I was interested in. The guy is that good, I actually looked forward to treking all the way down to Carr.

I cant say I was the best student in this class,but dont discount what I have to say. He is a very nice guy, but if you're like me and miss class every now and then, find another f'ing class. He is an **** about grading down students who don't need to hear his lecture to do well.

He's an incredibly smart guy, great lecturer, and easy to talk to. You have to do the reading and pay attention, however. Don't skip lecture often, or you'll never catch up.
