50% of the grade is a group project creating an app. The lectures are not all that exciting. To understand the material and do well on exams, you should keep up on the "reading guides" which are primarily wikipedia articles covering the concepts that are talked about in class. Comment:

Professor Vander Linden is a very good instructor to hear feedback from. He knows what he is talking about very well. He is more than willing to help you if you have any questions regarding quizzes, homework, and more (he basically tells you what is going to be on the quiz). He is very approachable and hilarious, and his lectures are wonderful.

Excellent prof and enthusiastic. Probably one of the most outgoing CS professors. Lectures are mostly available on slides, and reading is very rarely used. If you do your work, you'll get an A.

Really nice prof, really good for extra help, but as far as RIT profs go, he's one that makes you do all the work. If you want an RIT class that is really easy, don't go for this one. Otherwise, he's a really good guy.
