Comment:

Larson was a very genuine prof who realizes not everyone in the class is there for a major. She encourages participation and if you contribute, you should survive. She has oddly-specific quizzes on each reading (every class), and a few big projects that give plenty of tie to be completed. As far as English classes go, this prof did a good job.

Comment:

Dr. Larson surprisingly made having an 8AM bearable. She is very passionate about literature, (specifically Hemingway). Make sure you do all the readings because she has pop quizzes all the time. Class will also be a hell of a lot easier if you do. There's only 4 papers, one of them being a 2 page reflection on a group project. Overall great prof.

Dr. Larson is the best professor I have ever had. I am a math minded person, so English has always been a struggle of mine. I went from hating the subject to wanting to minor in it after having her. While her papers aren't super easy, she is a fair grader. She LOVES her job and it is clear in how engaged she is in her students and the subject

Decent professor and helps you understand the stories you have to read with discussion groups. No tests, only papers that she grades very tough. Pop quizzes almost every class and participation is a grade so don't skip. She does not like technology, phones and laptops are not allowed in her class and she will mark you absent if she sees you with 1.

Dr. Larson is such a great teacher. Not only is she hilarious, but she is so passionate about the readings (especially Hemingway). There are a lot of readings. 4 papers and short quizzes on the readings. She holds conferences that are voluntary so you will not have class before the papers are due. I enjoyed this class so much and I recommend her!

If you are taking English and this professor is teaching, YOU MUST MUST MUST take her. She is really awesome, funny and makes English so much fun. So far, I would have to say that she is one of the best teachers at St. Thomas. She was the only one to meet my expectation of what a Saint Thomas Professor should be like. Take her class!!!

Great, great professor. Reading quizzes are few and far between, and very simple. She is intelligent and witty, very entertaining. SHE CANCELS CLASS THE DAY BEFORE A PAPER IS DUE. It is so nice. I definitely recommend her for English 190. So amazing, I really liked her.

Professor Larson is the best teacher I have ever had. I had her at 8 am and she somehow managed to wake everyone up to talk about stuff. Mostly just discussion about readings. 190 is a lot of reading but your mid term is based on your improvement from paper one to two. Funny, Fun, exciting. First time i have ever loved a lit class. TAKE THIS CLASS!

Professor Larson was very old-fashioned in her ways, and sometimes acted strange, but had a clear passion for the subject material and worked to instill the same in her students. Wanted everyone to get A's and B's, and it was easily possible if you came to class and had your work done on time. Very little outside work- 4 SHORT papers.

KL is one of the best profs I've ever had. Only four papers and she cancels class in order to allow students to have her review their papers. There are quizzes over readings but they are really short and easy. Take Her!
