Linda is a funny and nice person just different. She is all over the place and very unstructured. She spent the whole time explaining and defining what it meant to be western. Got a B but retook WRI121 because I learned nothing from her.

Had Linda for two writing classes, then I found out she was teaching Speech! I jumped at being in her class for a 3rd time! Yes she's frenetic, but you CAN get a good grade in her classes.

Linda has an "out of the box" teaching style and sometimes gets off track but she always makes things fun by having an open ended style which makes writing easier. Not an easy grader but fun class.

As far as teachers go she is worthless. No organization skills at all. No matter how good you are if she doesn't like you, you fail. I to the head of the dept. and he over road her and i have aced every higher writing class since. Ask around and the students (and other teachers) will say the same.

I will always try to take Linda Kessler's writing classes. She is hard to get a good grade from, but you know you can write if you do get a good grade; it's worth something. When she couldn't teach because of her health problem, a poor substitute made us appreciate her more. Take Kessler when you can!!

Class was fairly unorganized. The writing subjects that were assigned were obscure at best. Inconsistant with grading. I dropped the class, then retook it at the University of Oregon. Avoid instructor if possible.
