MARILYN IS AMAZING. She is so kind and really wants her students to succeed. I'd say she's a somewhat generous grader, you have to work your scenes outside of class and take all her feedback into account but if you're getting less than an A, you're doing something wrong. Wonderful teacher, actor, and person. Highly recommend.

I never would have succeeded as a college thespian without Her. I had great success under Ms. Carter's tutelage and guidance. Influenced by Her own collegial career, as well as Her friendship with on stage performers, true SAG MEMBERS, I trusted Her on every level. I was blessed to have Ms. Carter as my first acting instructor and director.

She isn't as bad as everyone is saying. Grading is a little unclear, but just do exactly what she tells you and you'll do fine. She's a really nice older lady who is passionate about theater!

Ms Carter is a very nice older lady that borders on crazy. It's an easy class, but her grading is incredibly unfair and the "assignments" are uninteresting. You focus only on one play, and everything you do on your own is wrong, everything has to be done her way. (It's usually wrong too) I didn't learn anything, and would not recommend her at all.

She is a great teacher class is pretty relaxed. Really wants you to get it right, always gives advice to help you improve. Not really hard you just have to try and listen to what she tells you to do. Lots of improve. You have to do some scenes from a play but she gives you plenty of time to learn the lines if you try. Fun interesting teacher

Honestly, if you're not afraid to look silly and have fun then this is a great class. She will definitely put you on the spot, but it's nothing too terrible. This class was like playtime for me. I didn't really feel that she was a unfair grader. It did kind of feel like an acting class though.

RUN NOW! this prof. is awful. She "assigns" grades. A friend of mine and myself both did the SAME work in this class, but got two different grades. Ridiculous! She puts you on the spot even when you are not comfortable doing the in-class participation. If you are not a dance or theatre major, you will not enjoy this teacher. Take Mizell instead.
