Comment:
This woman gave only two tests the entire year: the midterm and the final. Midterm was 50% of the grade, so if you don't understand clearly and pass that one, there is NO WAY you'll pass the class. She is so incredibly confusing to meet with during office hours and I found little help there. You have to write EVERYTHING down, nonsensical it may be.

Not very creative in grading: assesses students by giving them 2 to 4 tests throughout the course of the semester, but not on many other things. No projects, group work, activities: just lecture and tests.

Marilyn Sandidge is my new supreme being. She is an incredible professor that knows her subject matter inside and out, no matter what class. Her lectures blow your mind, especially when it comes to Shakespeare. She is hilarious, brilliant, and many other super positive adjectives. However, YOU MUST WORK HARD! Tests are intense! But very fair :)

She really knows her stuff and is always willing to help if you show that you work hard and put in effort. Not really a difficult class but sometimes the way she describes things is really confusing, like she's talking about 20 different things at once. However, she's a good teacher and is enthusiastic about the subject matter.

She was a great professor. She is difficult but I appreciate that she won't baby you. If you want to pass, you have to earn it. I think she appreciated my mid-atlantic accent demonstrations. I miss her!

Took Brit Lit to 1603 with her, I absolutely loved her. She is great at explaining subject matter and her papers aren't bad at all. The only complaint I have about her is her tests, very hard. Besides that, I love her. I hope to take more classes with her in the future.

Really intense teacher. Shes enthusiastic about the material and likes it when you speak out in class. Ive never had any trouble speaking with her about issues or confusion. Make sure you keep up with the reading, you'll fall behind fast. Tests are...hard. Only two papers though

Amazing professor! So knowledgeable about her subject matter and does an excellent job grabbing student interest as well. Her classes are completely lecture style, so if that isn't your thing I wouldn't recommend it. Love her!

professor sandidge can be very rude. she doesn't listen to the opinion of the student and will call you out in class. it has seemed as though she grades harder on people she's had an altercation with. i got 3 a's and only had a paper left and ended up with only a b+, apparently i failed the paper.

Decent Professor. She's a nice woman, but doesn't tolerate rudeness (ie, being late/absent a lot)I had her for British Lit to 1603 and it was clear that she was very passionate about the subject matter. She's a fair grader on papers, but the tests are kind of hard. She also has a few random reading quizzes, so make sure you keep up.

fantastic teacher. She is really passionate about what she teaches and if you hated Shakespeare before you'll leave with a new respect and a greater understanding of his texts. Her tests are usually one short essay and then identifying quotes or people. If you pay attention and go to the class you should have no problem

Was not helpful nor willing to provide additional help during office hours or to prepare for her unreasonably hard tests. I do not recommend taking her. Avoid taking her classes at any chance.

Not the best professor. Tests are very difficult. It's usually on 5 chapters at a time and her tests only consist of about 4 questions. She expects you to memorize way too much. She does straight lecture. She isn't really a professor I recommend ...

An okay professor. She definitely plays favorites. Her method of teaching (straight lecture) doesn't work for me and her tests rarely involve topics covered in class.

She has her favorites big time, and if you are not among them you are pretty much screwed. While I do not despise her as much as I used to(she improves piece by piece the more you have her it seems), I still feel she needs to quit playing favorites.

By far, one of the best teachers I have ever had at either the undergrad or grad level. She is amazing, dedicated, and absolutely genuine. If you love English, or want to learn to love it, take her classes; she will positively astound you in every way. She makes you want to become an English teacher without even knowing it. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER!
