Comment:

If you like being treated like youre in an elementary art class again have fun. Otherwise, if you come to class early or stay after shes in your face about cleaning up and asking what youre doing. Be nice to be treated like a college student and not like a five year old. Also, she does include the text book randomly and give random assignments.

I had Professor White for Studio 102 (2D design) She's a little frustrating to work with, gives contradicting criticisms, and will often sneak up on you almost (like she's watching you work and then swoops in with criticism). It helps if you're able to take criticism well. I had anxiety issues in her classroom. Nice, but hard to make happy

Max White is a very challenging and trying professor. She has trouble getting her points across and often contradicts herself. If you show up and do the work, you will pass the class, but if you can find another professor for this class, I would. She is very difficult to connect with and can be very rude to students.

To be honest, at the start of class I thought she was totally crazy. But as I got to know her she really helped me with my art. She is the type of professor that will not put in the effort if you don't. Just work hard and be kind to her and you should have no problem in her classes.

recent grad, max wants you to learn technique and explore concept. beginning classes more about technique than concept, adv classes more independent. will give honest opinion of your work. knows what she's talking about. to get an a be at demos, do assignments, show up to critique don't be rude. genuinely cares for students. gives grade you deserve

I really grew a lot taking Max's 2D class. It's true that she is totally nuts and it's extremely difficult to follow her. Lectures are tough, but all in all I am happy that I took her section. I developed my skills as an artist and as a person. I would take her again.

I've taken quite a few classes of hers and found that she is willing to work with students as long as they put in effort. She has been teaching at Whitewater for 10 years now. At that point if you try she can tell, if you bs your way through...she can tell that too.

Max is crazy, she Loves to critique the class but doesn't know quite what she wants from you. She likes kinda weird, demented abstractions, and repeats certain design terms over and over. If you don't take her personally she's not as bad. A surprisingly easy A for all the harsh critiques and insanity.

She was very strange and hard to understand she uses a lot of art terms. Her favorite one is Gestalt (Unity). She was very knowledgable on the subject and she had a lot of positive comments on how to improve your art skills. I was suprised that she was a easy grader on art assignments.

Max can be horrible and she can be great.Shes really hard to understand if you don't know art terminology.she wasn't my favorite teacher but she does push you to do better and experiment.Getting on her good side is key and dont think about skipping class or your bound to fail easily.her class is demanding but I definitely grew as an artist.

talks like she's on an acid trip all the time but that makes things interesting. hard to follow sometimes. don't take her advice too seriously because she likes to change her mind about things and could like something she doesn't like after a few mintues or a day or so. just do your homework and its an easy A.

Fun...and crazy. Kind of unclear sometimes about what she wants out of you, but overall does a good job. Trys to get your mind to take that extra step and see beyond your first intentions. Loved some of the projects we did.
