If you take notes during class, study key terms and do the self quizzes You should have no problem getting an A. He is very soft spoken so sit up front. If you show interest he will help you with anything you need. He does repeat himself alot, but he is a very good teacher if you pay attention and do the work. Test are not impossible! STUDY!

He is an overall good teacher. I think that the reason students do not like him because of how he talks. Yes, he is a little boring, but I learned a lot from taking three of his classes (got A's in all of them). The quizzes are from the lectures (so go to class), the tests are from the book (so buy it), and its extra credit for notebooks (so do it)

Comment:

Very helpful and kind. Exams are easy if you put some effort into them and go to class. The only thing I did not enjoy about these classes was how rude and loud my peers were during lecture, making it often impossible to hear and focus. Overall, good experience.

He is the worse teacher on the campus. He does not know how to teach and he is horrible in appearance. His test are impossible. Nothing he teaches is on the test and he grades this stupidly instead of how they are supposed to be graded (penn state policy). Also, this is an introduct0ry class and it is the hardest bisci class out of the 4.

I took two of his classes and hope that I never have to take another one. He's incredibly boring, and very hard to listen to. He talks in circles, clicks, repeats things over and over again.... And every class I had would have about 8 people asleep by the time it was over.

Great teacher, I read in a prev. comment that he only gives C's and that is not true. Very Specific grading. One tip i will give is the extra cresit notebook will lift your grade one level so use it as a option. Also sit up front so you do not miss anything he says

I took this class over the summer and highly recommend it if you are looking for an easy Gen Ed. All of the the exams were take home and quizzes were open notes. The class was supposed to be from 5:30-8:30 p.m., but we were never there past 7:00. I'm not sure how it is in the normal school year, but I would definitely recommend it in the summer.

The minute he starts discussing the syllabus, you realize he's very precise (a.k.a. anal). Don't be put off by that because, overall, it's not very hard to receive an 'A' in his course. Try sitting in the front though, he's a bit soft-spoken.
