Comment:
he doesn't teach you how to code, he just expects you to know it. spend roughly a half hour every class sitting down and not saying anything, but threatens you with extra homework or quizzes if you try to leave. he obviously doesn't want to do his job, but his classes are mandatory for a CS degree at WSU. Go somewhere else for a CS degree.

all he does is play old videos and hand out outdated work packages (which calls for you to use functions that aren't on the current version of SNAP) for labs. if you need help with anything, he'll send you to the tutor or another classmate who already finished it. he has absolutely no interest in teaching whatsoever.

it took him over 10 mins to create a .txt document and then he couldn't figure out where he saved it to. when he tried to write his own code, he couldn't get it to work and ask his class of 1st years to help him fix it. if you need help with coding he will not help you, he will send you to the tutor. he is completely inept.

basically an online course, but you have to physically be in the class. uses old videos and power points from Berkeleys CS 10 course. doesn't go over the book at all, but test and quizzes include topics from the book. the book "blown to bits" is mostly filled with random stories that are loosely related to technology.

He likes to ask vague questions, but expects specific answers (does this on tests too). Test have no real structure, covers random parts the book (which he'll never go over in class) , power points (created by trinity college in 2006), and programs you "write" (which he doesn't explain, you just copy the code he copies from the power points).

the words that writes on the broads are not clearly, and the words he say also not clearly , he wont accept the late assignment including submit one minute late. overall, it is very awful to take this class.

Paul was an okay professor. He's nice if you can get on his good side, and he is very sarcastic. I don't recall if he ever taught the class anything as all the class was, was him giving out labs, writing a few papers, and using online lectures. Tests are decently hard but he tells you what's going to be on the test, so make sure to study.

Paul could be a nice guy, but his teaching is horrible. Boring PowerPoint lectures, and when you do finally get to code it's all copying his work. He's very particular in class, you must be paying attention - but he will get upset if your typing (or taking any notes) while he talks. Must hand in quizzes right away or he won't take them.

definently the worse teacher I have ever had. This guy does not care for any of his students and is very unorganized. I will never take this teacher again.

Assignments are turned in in paper BEFORE the class starts, cannot submit assignments before the day it was due. Very difficult to get grades from, doesn't use d2l or any online grading process, cannot get back assignments if absent . Assignments are submitted via paper printout, usually including the source code, the test runs, and pseudo code.

READ the chapters he assigns in the textbook. Speak up/sit in the front/ answer questions & he will like you. Tests are the easiest part of class, he tells you EXACTLY what will be on them so study EVERYTHING on the sheets he gives out. Tutors will be your friend for this course. Keep track of your own grade, he doesn't give out grade reports.

If you want to be treated like a child and told that the 'internet is a thing now' then you've come to the right place. Schumacher is hands down the worst professor I have encountered. Here's a bright idea for the WSU CS Dept: at a bare minimum your computer science professors should know how to open powerpoint on their PC. Absolutely dismal.

He's actually a good teacher. If you actually apply yourself in and out of class then you'll get a grasp on some of these difficult concepts. He loves when you ask questions so the more you ask the more he likes you.

You need to show up to class as there are pop quizzes. However, you won't learn anything that you couldn't find out online. Every lesson is a video. The videos teach you, he does not. He rarely gets up, addresses the class, or bothers to get to know you. Videos are good, but why are you paying to go to college if you can educate yourself online?

The way he structures the class really helps you learn the material and grasp the concepts. He gives you study guides for quizzes and after you have learned the material and taken the quiz you learn about each part in class. Teamwork and group discussion in every class. Extremely Helpful!! Highly Recommend

Really hard professor. Treats students like they're children. Confusing and unclear. Makes lame jokes. Tries to trick students in to answering questions wrong so he can always be right. Won't accept assignments due that day if you walk in 5 seconds late. Assignments are tough and so are tests. Expect to work HARD to get an A or B.

Paul is an old fashioned professor, he can be intimidating but if you play his games the class is actually very easy and fun. Make sure to show up on time, hand in your homework before class, and don't skip any labs, easy A.

Sleep & Slides class. He understands material but doesn't know how to teach. Expect confusing instructions, boring/pointless lectures, easy tests(if you follow slides). He's friendly to people who laugh at his jokes, which are usually corny. If you ask questions about the instructions he will direct you to the instructions and condescend you.

He's not very good at lecture, but if you skim through the slides you'l know everything on the exams. Paul is a very smart guy, especially if you talk to him during his office hours. If he knows your face, you'll get an A.
