Comment:
Dr. Smith's grading scale was absurd and did not follow any kind of rubric guide. Also,he was very hard to understand during class and that was sitting on the front row. As well as, his clarity on what he expected on quizzes and exams were very unclear too. I suggest if you do take him then make sure you take very good notes and never miss a class!

I took his internet composition class and I really enjoyed it. He was very clear about what he wanted and even gave us his grading standards. He doesn't give out A's which I like because it causes me to strive to do my best. So if you actually try and do your best it is possible to make a 100 on an essay. He is very helpful.

Dr. Smith will help you with any problem in the book or story, but he is hard to understand with the way he talks so be warned. Nice guy though. Still made an A.

Comment:
Dr. Smith's teaching effectiveness can be described in one word: lackluster. His assignments are vague and, he has an imaginary grading rubric that he does not even understand. He grades unfairly and has a condescending attitude towards students. Avoid him at all costs.

How can I describe my disdain for this man? Let me count the ways. 1) his instructions are terrible, if existent. 2) if you do not follow said imaginary instructions, your grade will suffer terribly. 3) If you try to revise your failed assignment, you will most likely receive the same grade due to his failure to clarify what he expects.

This class is really frustrating me! The students' glazed eyes pretty much say it all. It's hard to pay attention bacause it's hard to understand what he says. He rambles about things that have no relevance, and he refuses to give clear instructions or examples of how he wants assignments done. Seriously. I asked.

Dr. Smith tends to be rather unclear in his lectures. His grading sometimes sometimes makes sense, BUT he looks for mistakes that are minuscule and if he cannot find them he will invent mistakes. He can be nice and helpful at times, but at other times he is condescending.

It's been a long while since I had Dr. Smith's Honors Comp. II class. I honestly can't say anything about it, really. I had a difficult time following his lectures. He provides plentiful feedback regarding essays, but he can be a harsh grader. Due to a few disheartening experiences, I can't really say much about his character.

He not very clear, but he does know what he's talking about. I may not have enjoyed his classes, but I like him. He dressed up as Spongebob Squarepants on Halloween - yellow tights and all! That really has nothing to do with his teaching...but he really is cool.
