She asked a question to the class and someone asked what she meant and she said she actually didn't know what she was asking. This is the epitome of her. she is terrible in absolutely awful! Do not take her!

Horrible teacher she is very hard to understand. Grades very very hard makes me fall asleep every class. Unorganized wrote the 10 page paper got it back with corrections adjusted it still got a terrible grade. worst teacher ever.

I graduated with a 3.6, and this was undeniably the worst and most frustrating JCU course. Expectations for papers were unclear, we had to write a paper as a group (srsly?), and in-class discussions were aimless. Long is also very rude towards many students, and it doesn't seem she truly enjoys teaching. Spare yourself eternal agony and avoid her.

I LOVE HER. You have to read the book to fully appreciate what you are learning. She is fair and she may laugh a lot but she knows her stuff and cares about her students.

The discussions and lectures can get a little boring, but the class was an easy A for me. I took her for a writing intensive, and if you're a halfway decent writer and you do one proofread, it's super easy to get a 100% on an essay. Midterm's not to bad. Teaches interesting topics, but a bit boring in class.

I have taken 2 courses with long. It's a shame she teaches these courses because she does not do them justice She gives no guidelines for papers or projects and really leaves you hanging. In class she often says "well I don't agree with this book" or "well I'm not really sure what this is" She doesn't know the material and grading can be difficult.

Absolutely the most boring class I have taken at JCU. She's totally unclear on every assignment and her study guides are not the least bit helpful. Make sure you cover your bases on papers or she'll accuse you of plagiarism...Don't take her unless you absolutely have to. Was looking forward to this class and it was AWFUL.

I thought Dr.Long was a very good professor. She is very interested in her students and the course material. If you show her you're interested and ready and willing to learn, she will respect you and you should do very well. I really liked Dr. Long as a person and a professor.

Professor Long loves picking favorites and if you aren't one you won't do well. She barely understood the material and should stick with teaching what she knows. Also, try sticking with what the course is supposed to be about, Long!

If your looking to learn, look elsewhere. To call her a teach is a misnomer. Worst teacher and class I have taken in my 4 years at JCU. Expect long silences because she has no idea what is going on and this causes the class to stop reading and discussing material. Class so boring that time seems to stand still.DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER OR CLASS.

Long was absolutely unbearable. She would want us to teach class and would spend five minutes staring at us until she would say something. Tests were horrible and impossible. Do not take her if you would like to have an enjoyable and fun class.

Teacher cannot relate to students on their level. Currently teaching Japanese popular culture, and doesn't even know about what's popular in America. I do not know much about Japan but from what I guess, it is different than she presents it.
