One of my favorite and rewarding classes at Scripps. He is so passionate about teaching and teaching about teaching. Absolutely loved my students and teaching them Chinese.

Comment:

Boucquey is just an awesome prof! He's kind, smart and very enthusiastic. I took French 44 with him and it's one of the best classes I took in college. His discussion of a Rimbaud poem comparing it to a painting totally made me fall in love with poetry and want to go for a French major. Take his class, you won't regret it!

Comment:

Thierry is a nice person, but his class is very text-based for a French 44 class. I remember the first two weeks of class we discussed music videos and pop culture, but then immediately switched to boring old poetry and literature for the remainder of the semester. He has good intentions, but his class makes everyone fall asleep.

I had prof Boucquey for CORE 3 and French 44. He's a very animated and passionate prof. Assignment expectations and essay feedback were vague. He also had a habit of mentioning things last minute which made it hard to plan ahead. Regardless, classes were great and easy to succeed in. He has a way of seeing amazing potential all of his students.

Thierry is a super kind man!!! He really wants to help his students improve their french and is very understanding. The lecture can be a little boring sometimes and the texts can be challenging based on your level of French coming in, but highly recommend :)

Professer Boucquey is wonderful teacher who loves teaching. Core 3 consists of teaching elementary school students a new language, and I must say, it was an amazing experience! You get to pick a language you want to teach, homework consists of planning your lesson plans week to week, and you teach 45 minute lessons twice a week. Best class ever! :)

I used to dread going to French classes in high school, but Boucquery makes French so exciting! There's never a dull moment in that class! He explains difficult concepts really well and genuinely cares about his students. Take this class; professors don't get much better than Boucquery!

I had him for both Core 3: Foreign Language Teaching Clinic, and he was helpful in both classes. He really emphasizes speaking in learning a language and he understands that learning a new language is difficult and tries to approach it from a student's perspective. How he grades lesson plans and writing assignments is questionable tho

Absolutely adorable guy. Kind of intimidating 1 on 1, but you most likely won't need that attention because he's a great prof in the first place! Clear, will help whenever needed, fairly easy, made me love a required class. French 33 made me miss 22 with him! Very sweet, cute little man. Would recommend 10/10

Amazing professor - one of my favorite French professors at the colleges! Took course to fulfill requirement, but ended up falling in love with French. Class is entertaining and he is willing to work with students in office hours. Class focuses largely on conversation. Spend time studying grammar concepts on your own in order to do well on tests.

Took Core III: Language Teaching Clinic with him last semester. Amazing, engaging, incredibly committed professor. I'd never considered teaching as a profession, but he helped me realize just how wonderful it can be. Highly recommend!

Professer Boucquey is an inspirational teacher who loves what he is doing. Teaching elementary school is an amazing experience when you are still in college. You pick a language you want to teach, plan your lesson plans, and teach 45 minute lessons 2 times a week. The class was an absolute blast.

Take this class if you want to feel like you can make a real impact while still in college. Teaching elementary school is so rewarding but it does take a lot of time and energy to prepare for classes. It was definitely worth it though. You don't interact too much with boucquey, but he is very laid back and helpful when you do.
