I took botany with Dr Brown. He is an awesome teacher, one of the best. His lectures are never boring, you must take lots of notes. He is very fair with his grades. He knows how to engage his audience. Can't wait to take Entomology with him!

Comment:

A deep and comprehensive course made interesting by Dr. Brown. Be prepared to take a lot of notes though, and stay on top of material. Do NOT buy text : Intro Plant Biology 10th ed. ($125) it is not used and bookstore will buy it back from you for $5 --no kidding! Most, if not all , the material will come from the lab manual and lecture.

Dr. Brown is great- funny, helpful- I learned a lot in his class. He told us the housefly story (you'll know)- I still think about that to this day!

I took this class back in Fall 95. We covered a lot material in this class, but the tests were fair and came straight from the notes. There were a few times when the lectures seemed overwhelming, but Dr Brown outlined everything so it was easy to follow what was said in class by reading the text.

Although the subject matter is intense..taking Botany with Dr. Brown has been great. You will learn ALOT from him if you take good notes and back up what he says in class by using the text. This guy keeps you on your toes and is VERY interesting. Great!
