He's a funny guy, but the class is incredibly difficult. He gives little instruction on how to do the Microsoft Access assignments, and the average exam scores are low. Take a different class to save your GPA.

TAKE THIS COURSE. If you worry you struggle with soft skills, shyness, networking, or interviews AT ALL, you need to get into this class. I recently had an interview with an organization I'd long been trying to work for, and it was because of this class that I was able to go into the interview confident and prepared... And land the position.

Totally worth it! By making us perform different activities, he develops our personality professionally and personally. I loved his two approaches: "Improv! Improv! Improv!" and "Tapdance". He's the best! I would recommend every student in the UIC business school to take this course.

I was taking the Improvisation and Leadership 1. The class provided a lot of useful skills of communication, networking and interviews. Professor Popowits always prepared and organized the class well. He taught the students in a way which you would absolutely enjoy and be completely willing to participate in the class. He is one of the bests!

Improv & Business 1 focuses on networking and interviewing (Improv 2 focuses on presentation skills). I highly recommend this 8-week class- especially in your last semester as I was able to do 3 mock interviews in class with classmates and get feedback from them on my responses in real time! It's a lot of fun and really informative!

I recently took his MBA 590 II (Improv) course after taking Improv I the semester prior. Prof. Popowitz is one of the best professors I have ever had. He's thoughtful, creative, inspirationally introspective, & truly makes everyone feel valued every week in class. Taking a class from him is a must to developing prof. presence in ANY MBA program.

Class has much more value when people who are shy step in to experiment in social practice. You learn to get along and find common ground with classmates. Class size felt just right. This course has potential for more topics to practice at: presentation, network contact, workforce entry. Hope the great things we experienced continue.

I would recommend every student at UIC to take this class irrespective of their majors. Professor prepared us for not only job interviews but for various aspects of life. Even though the duration was only 8 weeks, I am very sure that at the end of the course every person came out more confident and ready to get out of their comfort zones.

I Would definitely recommend this class for a number of reasons. First, you will learn valuable skills as well as make you a more confident professional. The reading material was also really valuable. The course will change from MBA 590 to BA 520 Spring 2017 but will be the same class. The course and Professor Popowits were truly outstanding!

Popowits is awesome. He made 495 very fun and interesting. His examples during class are what he puts on exams and homework. The class is a bit tough but he's always available and willing to help. Very good at explaining things if you're stuck on something. The material I learned I actually used in my internship, I would take him again if I could!
