Chemi is so incredibly intelligent. Probably the best professor I have ever had. I only had him for senior-level courses, so we had less computer time and more discussion time, which allowed us to develop amazingly creative concepts and close collaboration with each other. Very patient, funny, and empathetic

I started out as a marketing student cuz I wanted to get into advertising. The marketing courses are not what I wanted. I took this course with Chemi and he made me realize that the part I enjoy about advertising is the creative and design side. I am switching my major because of Chemi's class. He's helpful and expects a lot of you.

I had Chemi my senior year. He will meet you half-way: if you do your work he gives great input and my work has gotten better, a lot better. There were people in my class who barely showed up, missed assignments, etc. They are just a drag for everyone else

Comment:

Chemi is a really intelligent, really funny guy. Unfortunately I had him for an 8:55 Gen Ed so 95% of the class (myself included) didn't really care. Class is very hard if you don't like art so I wouldn't recommend it, but as far as professors go he is fantastic.

Comment:

Good teacher and very nice, but OH MY GOD, does he ramble. Unfortunately, classes are art blocks, so you're there for an unnecessarily long time listening to him talk about everything from zip lining to puppy kicking. When he finally does talk about the assignment due in two days, you're so zoned out, you have no idea what you're supposed to do.

Chemi is hands down the best professor! I loved this class, although it is a tough course (but he makes it so enjoyable!) He is a funny person and he helps you a lot with your projects! The class is fun and the "A" is really hard to earn, but this is one of those courses that it is more about the experience/skills developed and really enjoyable!

Chemi is a hilarious person, but as a professor he is a super hard grader. He provides comments on projects but then when you fix and improve your designs, he changes his mind again. He likes really simple designs. If your GPA can take a hit, take his class. If not, avoid it.

Chemi is responsible for the employment of more SOC graduates than SOC. I am one of them. Everything I have done since graduation at my job has been stuff I learned in the design courses. My journalism major at SOC was a joke.

I am a Public Comm major, and I took this class as a Gen Ed and serving for my design minor. It's a great class. There is a lot of reading and quizzes. The quizzes were a bit hard, but fair. Good class discussions, and really awesome images in the lectures. I recommend course and the professor.

This was one of the hardest classes I have taken at AU, but it was absolutely worth it. He's a very hard grader, but mostly seems so because most other professors are not. If you expect an easy A and a light work-load, this is the wrong class to take, but if you want kick-ass in typography, he's one of the best.

A lot of reading, but interesting dscussions. Don't think of this as your average art history class. There are no slide-id test. You do have to read a lot every week, but most of it s pretty interesting. Be ready for pop-quizzes. He's pretty regular with them.

The design thing: I had no idea what it was. It turns out I like it and I am good at it. Chemi made it easy for me to see that I am good at it. He has a bit of a silly, sometimes over the edge humor, but that keeps things interesting
