Very knowledgeable on Linux. Good presentations, clear and patient. Can get off the wall at times and comes off a little eccentric, but overall a very approachable, competent instructor Probably the best networking instructor I have ever seen.

If I was to rate Prof. Morgan on how nice he is, he would be getting a solid five stars. Unfortunately the quality of his course does not match his nice personality. Lectures are severely disorganized and very often go off-topic. If you want to learn about networks, don't take this class; just go to your local library and pick up a textbook.

The class was mostly quizzes based on reading 4-8pg chapters and watching videos. He does his best to explain/clarify and he's definitely interested in Computer Science and wants to help his students do well. Kind of unorganized.

Prof. Morgan is a really nice guy. His teaching methods are less than orthodox, but he is entertaining. It gets difficult to focus during his lectures because he'll go off on random tangents that have nothing to do with the class. Was never sure when the midterm or final were going to be until a week before. He's disorganized, but cares for student

Professor Morgan really wants his students to know and enjoy the material. He's extremely lenient when turning in homework late. The tests are basically the same as the homework, which is easy if you are actually listening to the lectures. The analogies he comes up with in lecture are fantastic. I enjoyed spending my Friday nights in this class.

Professor Morgan is an amazing teacher. He covered all the important topics in OS and some. I really enjoyed his lectures because he explains concepts from his perspective. To do well: do all the HWs and get 100s, use the study guide and ppt to review for the exams. Focus on the material Professor reviews in class and on the hw.

Took this fall of 2013. Taking CS40 now. Morgan is a super nice guy. Lectures are boring and hard to understand but he makes up for it by working with students. Homework counts the most. Get 100s on the homework and the tests won't sink you but they're brutal. You won't learn much but these classes are harder at university so take them with Morgan.

Terrible Instructor, his networking class is OK, but tests stray off into Linux specifics. The guy is totally obsessed with Linux, he also had us load 5 OS's on our machines, we never used any of them. Lots of software downloads from internet, bad. Secure Server class was NOT security, it was his pet cryptography in Linux. He never answers email.

Honestly he's probably the best professor I've had. He actually cares about the subject matter, and makes his way across town for students at his own annoyance. Plus he looks like the dad from Dharma and Greg; it's funny but he has more hair. To be honest if I pass I'll be happy, if I fail there's always HTML.

The guy is pretty easy to nail a B if you do all the work. You have to know your stuff and do well on the tests to get that A which I found to be pretty difficult. He a nice guy and gives you lots of freedom to play with the computer as he lectures which can be pretty bland. This guy's good choice. Last assignment only like 1 person knew how to do.

Very easy going professor, class is a relaxed atmosphere. Prof has a genuine interest in and thorough knowledge of subject. Pretty easy to get a good grade if just do the work, which is also pretty easy. Definitely feels like an evening community college class (it was).

Prof. Morgan is a good teacher. Learning is optional and if people want to sleep or play games in his class, that is their choice. His lectures are well planned and always include helpful powerpoint presentations. His websites are public so you can view class before taking. Homework is worth more than tests (he grades arbitrarily, anyway) Easy A!

Easy A, can't say I learned much. Hard to stay awake during his lectures. Half of the time was spent trying to fix Linux bugs. Take him for a GPA booster, nothing else.

I started off with an excitement about this class, but honestly by week 2, I found it hard to stay awake and/or not to play games. However, he's a good teacher and helpful at understanding basic concepts of operating systems.

David Morgan is highly organized, friendly teacher. CS40 (Operating Systems) is the only real academic class he teaches, and he doesn't really have a lot of knowledge in that field (not counting his Linux obsess), but he delivers just enough material for students to know. He welcomes outside experience, which is a plus too. I give him A+ overall.

Comment:
The class wasn't so bad. Some of the assignments can get a little confusing, but aren't terribly difficult. Grading scale is about 60% homework, 40% exams. He allows late homework, tries his best to answer questions, and really shines when it comes to decoding things in hex. I would say overall he's a good professor.
