Comment:

Look at this man and listen to this man and TRY not to see Nicolas Cage. Seriously though, he is a fantastic professor if you actually want to learn something. His lectures are very lowkey and clear, but his media exercises and exams are tough. If you don't study, it will show, if you do, it will pay off. Very easy going and nice guy.

Rankin is ignorant and rude. He in the beginning of the semester says that attendance is optional and then says towards the end "people that didn't show up their grades will suffer." The media exercises are easy until he says that if you dont give enough detail on your answers hell just give you at least a 4/8 because you tried.

Class is enjoyable to go to because he starts class with clips from The Daily Show or Colbert Report, etc. Notes are presented on a power point and a lot of information from tests come from the book. Rankin seems really dry but is secretly hilarious and a great teacher. Take a class with him if you can.
