Comment:
Rusinko is one of the best professors I have EVER had. With that said, do not go into her classe thinking you wont have to work. She smells bs a mile away, and will reprimand you with an iron fist. Her Russian classes are very hard, and she grades appropriately. Her lit and culture courses are merciless. Good thing- if you care, you will learn lots

She will give you a D solely for disagreeing with her interpretation. Quizzes on the books (without lecture) are subjective and can't be determined without secondary research. Pedantic. She has an ideal paper in her mind and if yours is different at all, you will fail. She will take points off for not including the ideas she expected. Awful.

This class demands that an individual put at least an hour of work in every night. She likes a lot of creativity, and that being said if you are not creative on the papers that she assigns, the highest grade you will get will be a C. I do not recommend this professor at all. Avoid taking this professor at all costs.

Was really excited to take Russian. Now I am taking Spanish because she made this class harder than it is. Choose an alternative professor if you are set on taking Russian.

Expect to work hard, its college and Russian is a demanding language. That being said, Dr. Rusinko is a great professor who genuinely cares about her student's progress in the language. She wants you to do well. Just because the class is difficult, does NOT mean that the professor is bad.

I was actually very excited about this class and took it as an elective. She killed every bit of enthusiasm I had for this course almost instantly. It has been a few years since I took Russian Lit., but I remember her being extremely condescending, difficult to please, and hard to understand.

Professor Rusinko is fantastic. She actually cares about her students. Class isn't taking monotonous notes; it's making fun sentences about silly pictures in Russian. The amount of work is reasonable for such a demanding language. If you don't want a challenge, then don't take Russian. If you want to learn, DEFINITELY take her class.

A very good professor. The language is demanding to say the least. The textbook is leaned on heavily but it is a good book. You will definitely learn and that is what professors are supposed to do. She is helpful if somewhat austere. She has been around the block and knows what she's doing. Homework and discussion are crucial and expectations high.

Wonderful professor! I enjoyed having her, and she does give a decent amount of homework, but if you expect to learn a language without doing outside work, good luck.

Dr. Rusinko is awesome! Her teaching style is very organized and she's easy to understand. If you do all the homework, and study the vocabulary, you'll easily pass. If you have questions, she'll explain it in class or you can email her and she always get back right away. The same goes for test and quizzes, they're up online the day afterwards.

I have taken a Russian class before with a teacher that barely spoke English and learned more than I am learning in this class. If you miss more than 12 classes you fail. Excessive homework. I would advise you to transfer in RUSS101 somehow. Thankfully a different prof teaches 102. The class is short and she expects you to do A LOT at home. Avoid.

The worst professor I have ever had. She undermines what everyone says then complains that no one is talking. She is ridiculous at grading- she corrected a direct quote from my essay. It doesn't matter how hard you try, she will do her best to make you feel stupid. I have taken her for 3 classes and hated her for all 3. And her Russian sucks.

Dr. Rusinko is a great professor. She's difficult for those who expect an easy grade or those who expect to "naturally" know the material. If you study, do the homework, keep up with the readings, attend class and all of the other good learning techniques. You are guaranteed to do well in her class.

I am switching majors becuase I cant continue with her. She made me cry in class, she gives 45 minutes-2 hours with of homework a night, and when you dont understand something she is very condescending. I know more then one student dropping Russian becuase of her.

You need to show up to class and do all of the homework. Rusinko is not personable but a good teacher. I did decent on exams but didn't do the homework all of the time so I got a 67% btw it's alot of homework never ending

She gives a lot of home work, which is ok except for the fact that the workbook and textbook are difficult and useless. She seems to grade very harshly especially if you know a few words in Russian or known somebody who is Russian and she knows that. Avoid her if possible because she is cold, boring, not helpful, and biased.

One of the most worthless profs ever. She's a brutal grader & assigns heinous papers. The final paper for this class was the most painful paper I've ever written. She's boring, mean, dry, & doesn't seem to like MLL. Not personable & dismisses requests for help. I'm a Dean's list student & this class almost cost me my diploma (need MLL301 for major)
