Sigh... I hate math but proffessor Guilde is okay at helping me to understand the work in class. The only thing I would complain about is he gives too much homework and the way the class is structured dosen't allow for much review but thats not really his fault. To pass: come to class, try to do the HW, take notes and GO TO TOUTORING!!!!

Comment:

No idea why he has bad reviews. Probably from people who just don't like math. I don't like math either. But Prof. Gilde is a good teacher. Speaks clear, reviews all homework step by step, and makes every minute count in an effort to make sure you ass his exams. Helpful teacher, even if bland in his old fashioned methods. But a good professor.

I really like math, but Prof. Gilde made it a nightmare 4 mee! He's not enthusiastic about teaching,he's not clear abt wat he teaches, he jus goes on & on assuming that you know everything. I mean he really knows what he's doin but, we dont! If we ask questions, he answers them but its still not clear & his tests r hrd!! Dont take his calc. class!!

Prof. Gilde is the BEST!!! He doesn't really care about attendance, but he does care about how well you understand the material. He does not move on to another topic unless the entire class understands and he give 3 tests and the final, and he always gives you a review sheet and reviews before every test!

best math professor ever, doent care about attendance or hw, exams are so easy, all multiple choice, i got an 85 always without opening a book, he gets boring at times but its math, easy grade, just do good on 3 multiple choice exams. Easiest grade you will earn in math, and he is mad cool and understanding.

Prof. Gilde may have corny jokes here and there and yes, wears the same clothes all the time, but definitely a great teacher. I did not like math at all coming in to this class, but Prof. Gilde makes it a little easier. He teaches well and will answer questions. 3 tests, 1 final (departmental) His tests are pretty decent.

Prof. Gilde is an okay professor. He makes mistakes. I dont suggest anyone take him, unless you are good in math.He doesnt care whether you come to class. If you are looking for an easy way out, take him. He give three exams and his reviews help a great deal. But he smells and wears the same clothes all the time.

PROFESSOR GILDE IS A GREAT TEACHER. HE MAKES YOU FEEL COMFORTABLE IN HIS CLASS AND HE DOES NOT CONTINUE TEACHING OTHER MATERIALS UNTIL THE CLASS IS ON THE SAME PAGE. EXCELLENT PROFESSOR.

If you're a math expert and you don't really wanna come to class, this is the perfect class for you--he doesn't care about attendance after the first month. BUT if not, and you want extra-credit and class participation grade boosters, this class will be a fatal mistake. First 3 exams are extremely tricky b/c there are choice E answers.
