Dr. Hanna is hands down my favorite professor at Creighton. He is super knowledgeable about music and makes everyone such a better player. He will definitely call you out if you don't know your part, but it's only because he is so passionate. He is also hilarious and makes class really fun. Plus, he is a composer so we sometimes play his work.

Comment:

Hanna was a great guy for orchestra. He doesn't have extremely high expectations but will get on your mistakes. Not much to worry about in the class. Nice and easy, 2 playing tests but they were a breeze if you practiced up a bit before you went in. Don't be afraid to take orchestra here.

Dr. Hanna is a very talented teacher. He is a genius at playing music and expects you to be able to catch on very quickly. Getting an A in his class is pretty easy, but you have to put in the effort. If you have never played a music instrument before he is a great teacher to learn from. Take his class if you can!

Hanna pretty much started the music program at Creighton and knows what he's doing. He's fun and since Creighton isn't exactly a school known for music, he doesn't expect you to be a master. Good to take, nice guy.

Biggest blow off class but a nice alternative if you don't want to take speech. If you're coming from a really good high school program, you will probably be a little disappointed but the plus side is it's an easy credit.

Dr. Hanna is a good guy and runs his classes well. I came from a big band with emphasis on balanced instrumentation, as opposed to the scattered, small band. Dr. Hanna is a typical southern gentleman from the south. He is usually very understanding about people's skill levels. The orchestra isn't really that good, but the songs are interesting and certainly challenging. All you need to get an A is attend the class. Take it!

I love Dr. Hanna! He is my favorite teacher at Creighton. His stories are interesting. He's a very talented person and I think we're lucky to have him here. He understands that we have other classes to focus on sometimes, as most of us are not music majors.
