He is very knowledgeable. Some lecture are dry and some are quite interesting. Homework is super easy. Exams does require a good amount of research.

Lectures kinda feel like they have no real application to anything. Assignments were fine. Everything is open note, open book, etc and but it's the exams that will probably get you. Nothing is on Blackboard, only his site. He's fine as a professor, clearly knows what he's talking about, class was just dull. Just glad it's over lol

Comment:
Most boring class about learning how computers are used in every aspect of society. He gives a project dedicated to find a painting and makes us do a group project. Everything he assigns, he gives little feedback on. There is no room for improvement, because he never answers emails on how to improve the next essay.

Comment:
This class is an easy A if you show up and have something to present during presentations. Professor Price would walk in, say hello and then leave. No real grades so the whole semester you are up in the air. No structure at all, you're not sure what is expected for each presentation.

The midterm & final make up the bulk of your grade with the exception of 30% for the project. Similar to Operating Systems with Price, the questions are on topics you've seen but that's where similarities end. Open notes don't help much as you won't find his answers online. Great guy and he tells some pretty solid jokes but the class is hard.

I am an above average student. I know that. I work hard on my classes and get very good grades. This professor is probably the worst professor I've came across. This is not a history or some liberal arts class where the professor can just set and talk and talk and talk!! This is not how CS courses should be taught! His teaching skills are awful

Comment:
This class made no sense. His lectures are completely useless to the class. He grades based on four papers and a group project which he never goes over or even mentions in any of his lectures. His grading system for papers gives little, useless feedback which make it very difficult to improve or even know what he is looking for.

Two exams: Midterm and final. We had four short homework assignments this semester. No feedback on anything. "Teaches" the course using old programming languages. Exam questions are barely relevant to lecture and book material. Be prepared to stitch together answers from online sources. This course has zero benefit with Price. Try to get Morris.

It's like if your grandfather taught you about programming languages. The tests are all take home and he gives you several days to take them so if you fail the course its really on you. The tests aren't easy though, you'll actually have to do a bit of work because you won't learn anything in class.

In a programming languages class, he spends most of the time going over the history of programming languages, 90% of which is on obsolete PLs not used anymore by anyone. There were two chapters he skipped over entirely, lexical analysis and semantics, which were topics in the course description. I didn't learn a lot from this class.

Took online. Material is easy but he is TERRIBLE! He doesnt use blackboard or his ODU email, & since it was online you had to know how to work the Cisco server or you were SOL. Then one of his "projects" is looking up artwork he likes that is on sale. Has NOTHING to do with the course. SUPER unhelpful with problems. TAKE WITH ANOTHER PROFESSOR!!!!

Read syllabus carefully! He is strict but detailed about what he expects. We had 3 tests (each were 1 pg. papers based on a topic), a group project, and a 5 pg. research paper. All of which were easy! He's kind of a tough grader, but not too bad. If you think you got an A on something, expect a B. So do better than your best! Pretty easy class!

He is VERY unclear with directions. He doesn't tell you what he expects and when you go and ask questions he talks to you like you should have read his mind. He takes forever to grade and grades hard especially for not giving clear directions. His lectures have nothing to do with his tests so coming is pointless. This class is pure frustration.

The class is boring, sure. But that's because computer technology isn't exactly a thrill. I'll get to the point- fair grader, doable assignments (esp for a summer course) that consisted of 3 tests, 2 group projects and a 5 page paper. Show up and do the work, you will get at least a B.

The most pointless class I've ever been in. No textbook, no test, and basically no teacher. A couple friends and I called this class "Story Time" all semester because that's literally what it was. Price would sit and tell stories about his art collection and his favorite car, but taught us nothing. Highly recommend taking the online class over his.

The only reason why I would reccomend taking him is because he is easy other than that I would not take this class. He is boring and uninterested in teaching. There is a pointless 10 pg paper and he NEVER gives grades back!

This guy is without a doubt the worse instructor on the planet. Drones on and on, stupid assignments to help with his art collection. Very poor communicator (doesn't use the BB system - doesn't post grades). My advice is RUN don't walk to find another instructor. I can't even imagine what his programming classes must go through.

He knows this subject well and the slides are a good source for notes. He tells funny stories. Interesting class but be warned: there is a 10 page paper!

Comment:
Usually boring, although occasionally surprisingly fun class. Notes are a joke. He had one word powerpoint outlines for notes. Would talk about whatever was on the outline, and knew the material well. If you pay attention in class, and DEFINITELY read the book, you will do good in the class. There is a 20 page paper, but it's easy.
