Her class was geared toward native speakers in the class so basic grammar was covered in about 5 minutes. We were occasionally tested on material that was not covered in class or in the book and her directionscriteria were so vague for pretty much everything. If you don't have some knowledge of the language it's best to try another professorclass

I loved this class!! It's one of my only classes at Mesa where I bonded with mostly everyone in my class!! Plus, she is just the sweetest lady there is. Assignments aren't tough at all. Just refer to the book if you don't have ANY background knowledge on the language. I only wish she taught TAGA 102. I'll miss you G. Guilas!!

Class was fun. Did not know that Tagalog was going to be tougher than it was. Fun class. Lots of interacting between students. Video project at end of class was fun to make and watch. Lots of pretty pinays to make class interesting if you're a male.

She is super nice and helpful. Her class is super easy. I didn't know any tagalog at all in the beginning and I got an A in the class. I learned a lot too. If you don't get an A you would be considered lazy.

Very nice lady. Its really tough if you didn't grow up hearing Tagalog. It defiantly helps having some background knowledge because the class and lessons go very fast. Not an easy A unless you grew up around Tagalog speakers.

Very nice teacher, and that's saying a lot because most of her students are complete idiots that just keep trying to push her around. She's very intelligent and does what she can to explain the material to the students.

Great teacher, she is so effective at teaching because she knows how to speak to students and help them understand. I was clueless with Tagalog and found this class to have tremendously helped. She is very nice and understanding so you can tell her if you're having difficulty with something she'll be more than willing to help you with the material

Binibining Guilas is very nice, almost too nice, but just don't push it with her because she did demonstrate at some point that enough is enough...Of course that was because some idiot tried to pretend he missed a test because he had a seizure...But anyway, the class isn't very hard if you know the language, but if you don't--study!

great prof, very friendly and available for help. i'm not filipino and the class was relatively challenging, i had to study. flash cards helped greatly, the grammar was the most challenging to grasp. easy for filipinos who know tagalog, of course, and not too hard if u actually study or at least cram before exams... haha

Fun class. Good intro to Tagalog. Most of the students know a lil bit of Tagalog, if you don't, sit next to someone who does. (preferably female). a really fun final video project at the end.

Auntie is the best. I loved taking this class in highschool and I loved taking it with her in college. She is very dear to me and she teaches really well. Anyone who has been in her class can see she is so cute when she teaches. I drove from mira mar college just to go out there to be in her class. I wouldn't do that for any other teacher.

I agree with the person below, if you dont know a word of tagalog it will be hard. The book itself is a mess cause it will have words that it never said on previous chapters and then you get confused. My advice, take it with someone that knows the language so they can help you. If not you'll feel lost cause everyone understands whats going on but u

Quizzes are easy. Crap load of extra credit. Tests, you might have to study for if you're not already familiar with the lang. She's cute and funny, but every once and awhile, moody. If you don't know a word of Tagalog... then goodluck. This will be a challenge for you.

greatest teacher ever made. all i can say is that most of her quiz are easy because its mostly multiple choice plus THERE'S a lot of EXTRA CREDIT oppurtunity in the class which is great for non-tagalog students.
