Comment:
One would never tell from the students in the classes under 400 level, but Igor Kriz is one of the leading algebraic topologists. I suggest you use his expertise wisely, since he can most likely answer all of your questions. Watch out not to get him angry at you; he will make it clear when he is disgruntled.

Good Prof. Midterms are similar to the examples given in class and homework. Exams are tricky though he grades them well. There is no curve so its a plus. Reviews before midterms are great and helpful; perhaps studying them one can ace the exam.

Professor Kriz is a mathematical genius. Lectures consist of him just talking from his mind about the topics at hand. He goes over everything on the tests in lecture, so there are no curveballs, and puts notes online. You don't really have to go to class except to turn in homework and take tests/quizzes. Pretty easy math class too.

He's one of the most excellent Math guys I've ever seen. He could give the lectures without having to open the textbooks or notes, but, coming out directly from his brain. Though his lecture is very theoretical, beyond what was expected from Math 417, it's useful for applying it in other courses. However, don't make him angry of you!

His teaching is terrible. He was mad and rude. He is the worst professor I have ever met.

He has terrible hand writing, which makes the notes almost impossible to review. He doesn't really have an authoritative voice while he teaches, mostly mumbles. Great guy, not great teacher

Probably the best professor I ever had as a student. Crystal clear. Not for the faint-of-heart. World-class, and you'll be lucky if you have him - but if you're in an into class, then be prepared to work and you'll be rewarded.

He clearly loves the subject of Mathematics but is not a good teacher if you are struggling with the subject. He is more than willing to meet outside of class but only gives you the answers to specific problems you have. He doesn't explain how to complete a problem, he only does it in front of you. Stats 425 is hard but has a large curve.

Professor Kriz is a decent instructor. Most of what he taught was pretty clear, although sometimes he went fast, up until the chapter on vector calculus. I think he could have taught us surface integrals and Stokes' Theorem a little better. But part of the problem is probably his imperfect English. His section of 285 is probably easier that 215

Yeah, basically he is impatient and angry when questions are asked, isn't generous with partial credit and isn't that great at teaching. I'd take someone else if I could do this over again.

Basically, hardest class of my semester including orgo 1. I ended up with a B and I didn't know what was going on the entire time. Hard to understand and teaches differently than the book does. Take good notes because that's all you have to go off of.

Professor Kriz is so funny! He gets things wrong a lot, but he usually corrects them or someone else in the class does. His tests are really easy, and he curves everything to a 80 median. If you want a pretty easy A in Calc 3, take this class. If you love Calculus, maybe this isn't the class for you.

This guy was very unclear and became frustrated when questions were asked. The second exam was insultingly easy even after he said it would be extremely difficult. Did not prepare examples before class, but made them up on the spot which would have been okay if he had not made so many mistakes.

Never explains anything. When you ask him questions he becomes confused as to what you're asking and then angry when you try to explain better. His first test was easy and then his second test was one of the most difficult things I've ever taken. One of the worst math teachers I've had.

Igor Kriz is both a hysterical and easy math teacher. Granted, his explanations aren't very good, but if you have any mathematical talent, his class shouldn't be hard at all. He gives out extra credit every time you speak in class. Even if you say the wrong answer. Easy, fun, some learning.
