Nothing but good things to say. He's amazing. I'm bad at science, but the class was easy for me. He's super chill and knows what he's doing and talking about. Because of Covid, it was a mixed class where we came in once every other week. He still did his best to learn our names and have fun with us. Listen to everyone: He's great.

great guy knows how to get the info across simple and to the point. quizzes at the beginning of every class, but very easy to get an A If you look over the info for 10-15 mins before class. labs are easy and fun but lab reports, mid term, and final makes up 80% of your overall grade. easy A or B class

Prof. Beck is helpful in lab. He is specific in what you need to know. Go to lab every day and write down everything he writes on the board, complete the work and take 30 min. and study your notes before the next class because there will be a quiz (10). They aren't hard, just know the material. Also, make sure to go to his practical reviews (2).

Not an easy A. You have to show up because he gives great notes and lectures in class. Study the board and your weekly packet, you'll do fine. Does require studying but you'll do well if you follow his notes. Lets you leave once the lab is done. Quiz and packet due almost every week. One lab report. Two practicals but gives great review sessions.

Prof. Beck is the real deal. As my Biology 1406 Lab-Segment Instructor, the man was an absolute awesome human being. Excellent labs with all the tools you need to ace each segment. He quizzes you on the EXACT things that he teaches you, so if you know how to pay even the basic levels of attention, you should do just fine. 10/10 - Would take again!

BEST LAB PROFESSOR!!!! He is the only reason I put myself up to an 8 am on a Friday. He's straightforward, funny, and the board every week is exactly what we need to learn for quizzes and the practicals. Quiz every week but so easy if you pay attention and take notes! (duh) Study for practicals. I got over a 100. We have a few easy lab reports.

Excellent professor. Gives you every chance to earn an A. Makes it absolutely clear what he expects you to know for the practicals, it is just up to you to know what is on the review. If you do, you'll get an A. Has a great sense of humor too, and very accessible outside of class. This is the professor you want to take for 1406 lab.

He's 100% the lab professor you WANT to take. He made everything in lecture easy to understand and I wish he was a lecture professor. His reviews for the practical are very clear on what will be on the test. Quiz every week but as long as you write what's on the board, it's easy. He drops the 2 lowest. Would recommend to anyone!

BEST PROFESSOR EVER. I'm actually annoyed with him (and he knows) because he isn't teaching lectures. he would be AH-mazing. He's light hearted and funny. He grades TRUTHFULLY. Even if he likes you, if you fail, YOU FAIL. (highly unlikely). You better grab his class, your missing out if you don't.

Professor Beck, is one of the gems of the Biology department. He definitely pours his heart into his craft. Was blast getting to see him show us how to prepare and go through all of our experiments. TO ALL THAT WANT TO TAKE HIM, HE IS ON HIS FINAL TOUR THIS FALL IS HIS LAST CLASSES TO TEACH! SOAK UP HIS KNOWLEDGE!!! GREAT GUY!

Extremely informative man, hilarious, makes learning fun and easy, even a hard subject like biology. He is 100X better than my lecture professor, very straight forward notes and lab instructions, just take a picture of the board and you have what you need for the quiz. Practical exam is 60% of grade, based on 2 exams, no written reports TAKE HIM

Great teacher, very concise, specific and helpful. This is a difficult class especially if you're not a BIOL major, but if you come to class, study and do your work, you can get an A. There are quizzes and homework which are very useful to prepare for the tests. Wish Professor Beck would teach other BIOL classes.

Best professor to take for lab. I'm a non science major and he was super easy. He's very clear, reviews everything and sets you up for an A. If you take him make sure to sit close to the board, as everything you take notes on is written up there. He's friendly and you never stay more than an hour and a half. Trust me: best lab guy ever.

Prof. Beck is easily my favorite teacher I've had in my college career. He has everything written on the board when you come in and you help him fill in the blanks, an easy quiz every week but study! His class flew by even though it was 3 hours. He let us leave early when we were finished with our hands on lab part. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! I'll miss him!

Loved his lectures and enjoyed going to class. Always finished class early, usually an hour early. You have a quiz every week; they are easy. Only two exams and I found them to be hard.
