I showed up to every class and participated and really enjoyed myself in this class. It can be difficult to catch on if you don't show up but the lab portion of this class matched up well with what we learned in lecture so I really enjoyed learning about something and then experiencing it in lab.

Overall, I did well in this class but it definitely wasn't without a lot of work. Be prepared to study lecture material and material from the book that isn't covered in lecture because you will be tested on everything and test are extremely difficult. I would highly recommend going to class because she give specific details and examples of homework

Students are treated as unpaid help for the Child Study Center. Tests are near impossible to get an A on snd this comes from someone who studies often and does well on tests. B was my highest score. She is also very condescending and rude. She is not flexible or understanding so don't miss. She is one of the toughest graders I've had in college.

She does accept perfection on papers but gives very clear instructions. She has made changes to her tests that make them easier but you will need to study. She is very open to helping. Make sure you are involved while at lab, put in the work, and make sure you edit your assignments before turning them in and you will do great.

I thought she was nice at first, but as the semester progressed, I realized just how much she seems to favorite some students over others. And she is beyond ridiculous when it comes to grading. Gave me a 6/10 on a lab report after telling me it looked okay. Lab is also terrible. You spend way more time doing chores than you do interacting with kids

Comment:
She is rude, condescending and thinks her class is the most important thing to happen to the human race. She grades harshly on the weekly lab documentation, which are only out of ten points anyway (most students never got a ten). Her tests are impossible, and that is coming from someone who studies hard core. Don't take this class.

She opens her tests at horrible times and tells you not to take them even though they are open until you've covered all the material in class. Her test don't always pertain to the material either...

You learn a lot in her class, but she is the most unhelpful, judgement, rude professor I have ever had. If you are not on her good side, change your major because she can make your life a living hell.

710 on lab documentations that follow all guidelines, got 88 on the 1st test which was highest grade in class she is a horribly hard grader and thinks this class is the most important thing in the world don't take if you don't have to because the fun times at Student Study Center aren't even worth it

Tests are really hard. Don't miss class. I had her class as an 8am and I slept through all the time on accident and that affected my grade so much! Just make sure you send her emails with good excuses or go to office hours so she knows you're trying, then she is actually pretty understanding. Lab is fun! Lab documentations suck.

This is the only class that I have ever received a C in, and I have taken classes that are supposed to be way more difficult than this. She is a very nice and caring instructor, but her tests are up in the air on what questions may be on them and she is a very strict grader.

Loved the class and loved her lectures but did not like her as a professor. Very picky on her assignments and her tests are impossible to get an A on the tests.

She is a good teacher but a difficult grader. In order to do well you must study the power points and go to class. Attendance is not mandatory but it helps if you go.

She is a good teacher and seems really dedicated to infants and toddlers. The lab was really tedious though. There were 5 teachers in the class and 8 babies. When half of the kids are asleep there is nothing to do. Even when the kids are awake there really isn't much to do. The lab reports every week are ridiculous. Take 275 if you have an option.

I took this class to actually interact with the children, not do busywork and chores the whole time at lab. Her tests are ridiculously hard and she doesn't always let us know what all will actually be on the test, so we do not have many super high grades.

She's very nice, but she talks to you like you're a child. She expects you to write ridiculous journals. Also, lab is awful. You spend more time doing chores (laundry, dishes, taking kids to the potty) than actually interacting with and learning about kids.

Mrs. Young is a very nice woman and does help you when asked, but make sure you go to class. it is tempting because she doesn't take attendance, but test can be tricky if you don't go to the lectures. Also, she has a few in class activities that won't be mentioned until the day of.

Attendance is necessary. The notes she posts on BB are not as helpful as actually attending class. Take notes and pay attention and you'll be fine.

This class was pretty much pointless. She's a hard grader on the in-class assignments and projects. Make sure to come to class since her tests mostly come from lecture material. Look over the outlines on Blackboard and you should be good.
