Comment:
Prof. Putzi assigned a lot of reading for this course, but she was responsive to student feedback! She gives great feedback on papers and the weekly discussion board posts. The only drawback of the course was the class structure of just one weekly meeting (the class was listed as asynchronous in Banner but did have that synchronous element).

Professor Putzi is amazing! I love taking her class this semester. She was so accommodating, especially given the circumstances with covid. Her class was also so engaging, and I learned so much. She's a pretty easy grader, but she also wants to see you improve. I think everyone should take a class with her at some point!

Jenny is my favorite prof I've had at W&M. She is incredibly understanding with extenuating circumstances in regard to attendance. Given the course topic, it was incredibly easy for me and my classmates to relate to the material and for her to encourage that kind of material-learner interaction. She wants to know your experiences. I love Jenny.

The amount of knowledge and diligence Prof. Putzi brought to the class was amazing. We were able to dive so deep into discussion about the weekly readings and it was a very open space. She was also very helpful outside of class with bouncing around ideas and editing projects or papers. A true gem of a professor.

I think she's an amazing professor. I have taken more than one class with her, but this time she taught a specialty one-credit class. There were a lot of interesting readings, and a response paper/quiz almost every class to check that you did the readings, but it evened out since we only had 6 classes total for the semester.

She is one of the best professors I've had at W&M! She always brings up good articles and texts to provoke discussion, and I always felt like class time was too short since the class was able to talk from start to finish. If you ever need her help (whether related to the class or not), she was always open to talk as well.

Lots of reading. The material is largely very interesting, so it's not too bad. The only bad thing is that Jenni allows a few particular students to run class and it's hard when people ask legitimate questions and a minority get offended by their ignorance. She's a wonderful person and I think GSWS is just not my thing.

I absolutely love Jenni. She cares about you as a student and as a person. Her class was always fun, engaging, and really made me think about the concept of gender. Definitely one of the best professors I have ever had!

Really enjoyed the course material and felt I learned a lot! Definitely has a "women's studies" feel to the course. However, her delayed response to my emails made completing work on time difficult if I had a question.

I really like Putzi, and I'd recommend her. That being said, be prepared for a group project involving putting on a scene from a play - felt pretty juvenile as someone else said. Puts a feminist slant on most things.

Comment:
Some of the readings, as has been said very focused on Women's Studies, many readings were focused on women and minorities. Some classes were fun and interesting but sometimes very dull and off topic. Felt her grading was harsh, one project involved performing a play scene which was very juvenile and disappointing - I got stuck with a bad group.

She is extremely helpful and very attentive to students. I was interested in the topic for the seminar before taking it, but she has really opened my eyes to new perspectives and ways of approaching it. Very friendly and intellectual, she is a great professor!

Incredible teacher and person. I loved going to class every day-the discussions were always lively, interesting and thought-provoking. 205 is a participatory class, so if you're the type to sit back and listen to other people talk, you're not going to get much out of it. Jenni does a great job of trying to get everybody involved in the discussion.

Really amazing experience. She's a great teacher! She really does accept a lot of different opinions even though she does not hesitate to make her own thoughts known. Changed my major because of her! Amazing experience. Take 205 with her, it will change your college experience!

I wouldn't recommend taking a class with Jenny but other 205 professors are really cool. I wish I would have taken Professor Marcus' section. I had her for another class and she was awesome because she didn't try to get you to agree with her. Jenny does. She really wants you to think like her and there is not much room to have a different opinon.
