Comment:
Great professor, explains the concepts very well. If you pay attention in class you will do well. The exams are also not very bad, most the material is the stuff covered in class. Does throw curve ball or two in for each exam, but even those are not too bad.

Great professor. Brings all sorts of experiments to class; incorporates fascinating examples in the lectures. Go to him to discuss physics in the marvel universe or general queries from day to day lives. Works at CERN, so has stories from there too.

He's a super smart dude that knows his stuff. His lectures are pretty dense and boring but if you follow along and do all of his HW, you'll do well on his tests. His tests could be much harder, but he mostly just tests basic concepts. Don't memorize formulas; just try to understand all the concepts and you'll do well.

Butler is a fantastic teacher. He is kind of funny and makes a lot of jokes. His voice is very particular and awesome. The problem is that all physics teachers teach with power points and this is no fun.

I really enjoyed coming to this lecture. The class was hard, but Prof Butler is an excellent teacher. He is a brilliant man, who really likes what he does, and is able to teach the material in an understandable way.

Butler made a lot of jokes... some were funny! He is a good Professor that takes the time to help you understand. The only downside to his lectures is that they are all powerpoints... and he flies through the three slide proofs. Other than that, great guy! I enjoyed his lectures and they got me an A in the class.

Nice guy. Will take the time to answer your questions if you ask them during lecture or talk to him after class. Lectures aren't too interesting, as they're all powerpoints and they're later put up online and you usually only go for click questions, because they count a bit.

Butler is a great teacher. He does plenty of presentations in the class to explain the concepts, but he does rely heavily on the powerpoints. Even though he's a great professor, the physics department itself is the issue and gives out ridiculous exams. Study everything, go to office hours and Butler will try his best to help you.

Butler was a very professional teacher, almost to the point where it seemed that every word he spoke in class was pre-conceived. Nonetheless, he was sufficiently quirky and took time to prepare interesting (and fun) demonstrations. Above all else, he even had his own catch phrase: "Physics being an experimental science...."

Demonstrations in class are very cool. The labs are very easy, usually finished early. The curve in this class is amazing. The median has to have been curved to AT LEAST an 88, given that I got an A both semesters averaging no more than a few points above average on each test. Great teacher, posts previous exams online.

Fun class. Butler does demos in class almost every single time. The labs are pretty easy as long as you get an easy TF. Butler has an amazing curve and almost guarantees an A or B in the class. Great teacher.

Very nice guy. Knows the material very well and especially helpful in office hours. Test questions consist mostly of the homework problems and fundamental concepts of physics and are very fair. Class may be hard without previously taking a physics class but seek help and do the hw and you'll be fine

Very accomodating and understanding; when I buggered up royally and missed the final exam's start, thinking it was two hours later, he let me finish in his office, saving my sorry neck. He's a no-frills lecturer, but he's clear and approachable.
