I love this man. Great professor. Super charismatic, always has something interesting to say. Just make sure you do your work, he's not afraid to let you know how disappointed he is in front of everybody.

You need to read and actually put effort. He grades on what he sees in class so participate. Spark notes won't slide. Very nice in his office and super passionate. If you don't participate he gets angry and makes the class harder. Talk to him in his office he really cares.

Professor McCann is not a typical teacher. He is tough, but fair. His lectures are long, but chock full of intellectually stimulating topics. He has such a passion for literature which is incredibly inspiring to witness. His views on various subjects are refreshing. Of all my classes at La Salle, I can honestly say that I will never forget his.

In general, I like him as a personphilosopher, but don't like him as a professor. He grades ridiculously hard and has poor conveyance for what he wants in his papers and tests. If you've had him before, he's great for a high level Lit class, but a first timer will have a rough time with this professor.

WORST EVER! He is rude, stuck up, and thinks he is the smartest person ever. Along with that, you do not learn a thing. The classes are just reactions and discussions to books read. You read a total of about 7/8 books. I dropped his class.

He is literally the 2nd worst professor I had at LaSalle. No opinion matters except for his. Very rude and stuck-up. I personally felt insulted and disrespected during the course of his class. Definitely not a professor material. I just couldn't wait to be done with this class. Please stay away from this class. ITS A NO!

McCann was one of my favorite professors at LaSalle. It seems he still likes to call on people, which for me, I liked. He likes to keep the discussion going and doesn't like it if people did not do the work, or don't care. I learned alot in his class and he is a really nice guy if you talk to him. One of the best classes I had there.

He got really annoyed if you missed a class or if you didnt know the answer to something. He gave rude comments if you were unsure, and he calls on people randomly throughout the class. I honestly did not think he was nice, but then i took about 10 minutes to talk to him after class, and it turned out that he nicer than he seemed in class.

Love him - he's funny and is very knowledgeable on the French language and culture. He's very passionate. The class isn't hard at all. Sometimes it's a little boring.

Comment:
Prof. McCann overall is a good guy and is very passionate about his work. However, that's just about all positive I can say about him. He has a tendency to be very abrasive and while he's willing to help people out if they are confused, clearly doesn't like doing it. Work is a tad difficult ex. if you have to rewrite your essay. Overall, stay away.

Nice but extremely hard. You have to read 6 to 7 plays. He only gives you 2 or 3 days to read each play. Hard grader and pick on students. So if you need to take a LIT, DONT TAKE HIM...

DO NOT TAKE HIM! He is sooo full of himself and if you don't agree with him, you're wrong. I wish I never took him. There is nothing wrose than being in a class and feeling like you have no hold over your grade- THAT IS THIS GUY. He is horrible. Marks very hard and then when you try and express your idea on how he graded it (when he asks)YOU'REWRON

he has this "you're not wrong, but i'm always right" attitude. it's a lit class, people have their own opinions, please stop telling us we're wrong. i went to every class and it was completely unnecessary.

Tends to lecture too much sometimes and tries to get the class involved by asking rhetorical questions, but the reading material he chose was wonderfully entertaining, and he definitely knows his stuff about literature. If you participate a lot, he'll def enjoy your presence. All we had was 2 essays, a midterm, and a final all semester. Recommended

I personally didnt like him. I thought he was full of himself and dont bother having your own opinion. I didnt like the books he picked, they were all about existentialism when the course was European lit but he's a pretty easy grader. You have to agree with him & def participate!
