Comment:

I had a 3.8 GPA, and never less than a B in a science course. This class is the reason I changed my major, at the time no one else taught the class. Was the hardest person to follow and exams were incredibly difficult. Nice person, he understands the content extremely well, but can't explain it to someone else.

Comment:

Dr. Yoder is a very nice man, but he makes the class more complicated than it needs to be. He gives about 2 quizzes and 4 tests, and bam that's your grade. Other professors give you extra credit, and he doesn't. He gets off topic and makes almost everyone fall asleep. Take AMMER.

Comment:

Better off reading the notes he posts instead of writing them (changes Power Point too quickly) and he takes attendance. There is a lack of communication with other lab teachers which causes a problem when they don't know what to teach you for the practical. Overall though, decent teacher, passable if you STUDY.

Definitely allow a week to study for lab practicles, study both the lab manual and textbook for tests and pay close attention in class (even though at times it seems like he is going off topic, some of theat material may appear on the test.)

Definitely not an easy class but not impossible to fail. I got a midterm warning but when I went to see him, he told me what I needed to do to get a B in the course, did it and got a B. If you take the time to do the extra work, he'll notice and reward you for it.

He's definitely not the greatest professor that I've ever tooken but he does teach a lot of information. Word of advice if you don't need extra BIO don't take this class for fun, strictly for serious BIO majors who can put time into studying the material. Very difficult tests involve lots of studying.And missing a class is critical. Even after studying, test are still hard.And asking him for help may not always help.

He's a really nice and helpfull professor. Memorize the lecture notes (tests come directly from the lec notes), do the extra credit, and talk to him if your having troubles. He's really willing to help the students.

Some advice.. don't take notes in lecture, they're useless, read the entire textbook and go to the other sites he lists in lecture, his slides are completely pointless. He'll help if you need it, but all he does is ramble. Exams never had anything to do with what we were learning. Too senile to be teaching =/ Nice guy though.

Dr. Yoder is great! He is very helpful and gives lots of extra credit. He also curves tests quite a bit. If you do poorly in this class it is because of laziness. He is nice too.

Dr. yoder's not only a really great professorr but he's also a nice one. Memorize the notes, read the chapters and do all the extra credit possible. most people do horrible on the tests but he does curve. Work hard and you'll do fine.

Dr Yoder is a very knowledgeable man. He is always willing to help outside of class, however most of your grade is based on the 100 point exams, which are VERY HARD. If you do not study a lot for the tests you will do bad.

Dr Yoder is a sweet, caring man. Yes, his class is very boring. Yes, he does like to ramble. but if you have problems or dont understand, talk to him and he will be wiilin to work something out. He is VERY fair. Study all of his notes, read the text, study a week in advance on lab practicals, go to review sessions and go to all the extra credits.
