Comment:
Stuckey is definitely not a good teacher. Way too many writing assignments with critical approaches that just seem too in-depth in a business school setting. Tough grader on essays, especially for a Gen. Ed course like EXP201. Participation is encouraged by him. Very opinionated, its his way or the highway in most cases. Stay away if you can.

For a class that is about film, he makes it really hard for no reason. You would assume it would be a fun and easy going class, but Professor Stuckey goes all out on trying to analyze film. He is too strict and basically wants to be a professional film analyst by the end of the course. Would never take him again.

Never take him, the worst teacher I have ever had. Discussions are pointless and he gives an insane amount of essays for no reason. Other classes only write 2 essays a semester, we have to write around 15. Avoid at all costs.

Prof Stuckey's class only serves one purpose, to lecture you on why you are wrong. He assigns 4page minimum papers to be completed within the week at a scholarly level. He makes a writing class the most stressed about the class at a business school. You'll never be correct in class because you're answer isn't good enough.

Prof Stuckey is a nice guy that cares about his students. That being said, he is one of the worst teachers I have ever had. His literally took up more of my time than all my other classes combined, all for an exp101 credit. 16 essays, half on being black in America. If you disagree he will make you rewrite your paper, 2 absences -1 letter grade

DO NOT TAKE. He expects you to make this elective your priority and is extremely hard with grading. He has one opinion and thats it. He is extremely picky about what he wants to the point where you don't learn anything and you're just trying to please him. This is easily the most ridiculous class load and will bring down your GPA for no good reason

Prof. Stuckey expects a lot from his students. EXP201 is supposed to be a basic writing course at Bentley, but Prof. Stuckey turned it into a film analysis class. We were required to write multiple essays and the final paper is worth 40% of your grade. He grades extremely hard and expects "scholarly" work from his students.

You're probably reading these saying, "there's no way he's that bad for an elective cinema class." I'm here to tell you he is. The amount of work he assigns for an elective is a little absurd, not to mention how harshly he grades the assignments. He's also the only professor I've ever had use Sharepoint instead of Blackboard which is confusing.

Easily the worst professor I've ever taken. A midterm exam and 2 essays make up 87% of the grade,so if you do bad on any of these, your Grade plummets. He is unclear about his assignments. The class revolves around participation but it is not graded at all. Hard midterm and essays. Constantly forgets what assignments are due. Hard grader.

Although there is a lot of work, Prof. Stuckey Cares about his students. He personally meets with his students over skype anytime during the week, and In my case for an hour on a Thursday night. He also has 4 hours a week of sign up time for personal meetings. A really tough class but, if you meet with him, you will learn a lot.

So many essays. I took him for EXP 101 and It felt like an advanced black literature class. We had 15 essays over the course of the semester. EXP classes are expected to have about 5 essays... not Stuckey! The literature we read and wrote about were all 20+ pages and about mostly racial subjects or African American writers. My worst class by far.

Stuckey is a nice guy (shiny head) but grades way too harshly and is not very clear about assignment dates. He also gives WAY too many assignments. We have a final major essay and too many assignments have NOTHING to do with the essay. Also, WHY do we have a final major essay AND a final exam?!?!? Also, we were the only section to have a midterm

Very hard class. I put an extreme amount of effort into this class, and still will probably end up with a C or C+ I spent around 14-16 hours on an assignment and got a C, but thats because i just dont get film.. film is very subjective and you need to argue your point because of that.. and i suck at it.. so be aware... its HARD

There are SO MANY assignments in this class so be prepared to write a lot of essays. Although you have to write so much, you can pretty much keep revising anything in order to get a better grade. It is difficult to do poorly in this class, but you must do the work and put in the effort. This class is easier for naturally good writers.

I made a RateMyProfessors account solely to warn other students about Stuckey. He is really convinced that his class is the only class his students take. He's the harshest grader ever, and he will give 2-4 papers a week, as opposed to the other EXP teachers who give (at most) 4 a semester. Switch out ASAP. Dropped my GPA for no reason.

Switch out ASAP. Turns class into his own. Loves to here himself speak, feedback doesn't help at all. Prob the worst professor I will ever have. He teaches at a conservative business school, yet firmly believes that interpretive literary criticism is a tenet of our education. Do not take. Class is so irrelevant.

Couldn't finish my response, so I thought I'd serve everyone at Bentley justice, typing another response. The man takes what appears to be an interesting class and veers it completely off topic, following his own agenda in teaching the course. Incredibly long and awkward pauses when asking questions in class when no students know the answers.

Worst professor I've had at Bentley. For a liberal arts professor at a business school, he sets expectations way too high, demands way too much work. The assignments don't have any structure either, very vague. He loves to hear himself speak, can spend an entire night block giving a boring lecture with zero input. Drifts off topic, following entire
