Dr. Spiro is incredibly intelligent and engaging. He is constantly busy planning his classes. His lectures are packed with data and examples; he doesn't waste a second. In seminar classes, he assigns many primary sources, but all are well worth reading. Spiro encourages analytical thought and focuses on historiographical value rather than judgment.

This prof has captured the exact amount of enthusiasm for teaching all aspects of history so that people with no interest come away with an extremely high level of appreciation. Prior to class -I didn't ahve a great need to read history and now i can't get enough - read His book - on Madison Grant and you will know exactly what I mean

Dr. Spiro is a truely brilliant and devoted professor, making sure all of his students do his or her best to suceed. He cares so much about both the history and future of this country, it was hard not to get teary-eyed with him when he did his famous JFK lecture. Thanks Doc for a truely memorable class!

What is wrong with you people? You're obviously ignorant if you can't recognize that Spiro IS the best thing that ever happenned to Castleton. You should count yourselves lucky that you ever sat in a room with his man, because he is brilliant, dynamic, witty, and engaging. Spiro is the best teacher you will ever have. Ever. He is absolutely brilliant, and his classes are amazing. Plus, he's totally sexy in that I'm a brilliant college professor who is always deeply in thought and never sleeps enough kind of way. He's Castleton's best kept secret.

He makes history interesting. He is the best teacher you will ever have. He doesn't just care about his students in the classroom but really cares for them in their outside lives. He really is too good of a teacher to be at Castleton!
