Comment:

Professor Sagastume is an absolute gem. Not only has my spanish improved tenfold, but the things that we discuss in our literature make me feel like I'm growing as a person, too. Sagastume is AWESOME- Super smart and always works with you. Class isn't an easy A, that's for sure, but it's absolutely worth taking.

Comment:

I am a Spanish major taking 305 as a sophomore. I was a little intimidated at first, but Sagastume is such a nice person he is willing to help and take extra time before and after class to discuss and elaborate on concepts that are a little confusing. I recommend taking his higher level Spanish courses, you'll have a lot to think about and discuss.

Comment:

While he may be a literary genius in the works, he is not the best grammar professor. Rather he isnt any good at all. He does not provide the best safe space environment that is needed for a college classroom setting. Instead he is quick to call on students who are generally quiet, forcing them to answer when they are not uncomfortable.

His lectures were somewhat confusing, but the online homework and small class size helped me practice my Spanish, and I made it through the class, but there are better profs to start out with for Spanish. He's a very cool guy, a little scary at first, but also very funny and caring.

Literally my favorite teacher of all time! I want to marry Sagastume!! Don't let him intimidate you because he is the most friendly guy you will ever meet. He won't take any crap and is not afraid to call you out in the middle of the class and make a fool of you. Respect him and he will respect you. Feel free to ask him ANYTHING b/c he WILL answer

best, smartest, most down to earth prof at Dson. i don't know why everyone thinks he's intimidating...maybe it's just because he's genius. ask him to explain the Alef or the concept of infinity and it will change your life.

The first class I had with him I thought he was intimidating, but once you get past that he's a really sweet guy! Very friendly, down-to-earth, values students' feedback... and a great professor who always pushes you to challenge your ideas. Yes, his classes are hard, but you will learn a ton.

Very tough professor, but very clear, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful. Very intimidating at first, until your show him that you are willing to work. If you are looking for an easy class, don't take any classes with Sagastume, but if you want to learn, this is the best prof. in the department

This guy is the most intimidating professor I have ever had. Class material was interesting and course requirements were clear, however it is absolutely impossible to get a good grade from him unless you're a spanish genius. He claims you can get an "A" simply from doing the work... NOT TRUE. I'm never taking spanish again.

Sexy and smart. There's nothing mysterious about his classes: he tells you exactly how hes going to grade you and he tells you exactly what he wants. Granted, the material is difficult, but Sagastume makes you WANT to do well. And did I already say he's sexy?
