The History of Life: Professor Longoria created this class and it covers what the title implies. He is very passionate about the subject and occasionally features his own research, he has done more than just teach! Three exams are all your grade is based on. It's not an easy class, but you can study your way to an A if you really kill yourself.

you have to come to class to get the notes, they aren't posted anywhere. he made bullets with exact questions from the test (very very helpful) but he said he wasn't doing it anymore. without the bullets its a lot to study. if you come to class and take notes, no need to buy the book.

absolute worst professor i've ever had at fiu. rude and presumptuous. seems to think he's god's gift to students. stimulated absolutely no interest and did not seem to care about any of the students' progress in the class. somewhat self-absorbed. i would recommend punching yourself in the face before taking this class. complete wastch of your time.

The content of his lectures is fascinating, yet his teaching style manages to make them almost dry. A lot of the material covered is not on the test - and then there is stuff you have never seen before on the test. His tests are riddled with typos and repeats. NOT an easy course, even remotely. You will have to study for hours. Seriously.

Hard to understand his accent. Frustrating to take notes, he jumps around slides and websites. Hard tests even studying won't help sometimes. Gives out free exam grades if you suck up. Don't take this class if you're just trying to fill in an easy science requirement. Upper Division material, not work 3 credits and stress.

thick accent (sit at the front for better reception lol) ...not very exciting...shows an occasional national geographic documentary(which is great)...seems like a nice guy(never really spoke to him).tests would have been easy had I studied...mainly uses powerpoints...if you are a good student then all you have to worry about is his boring lectures.

fully online. He was rarely available and the essays are graded pretty hard. You need to do a certain amount of pages per essay. Three were due for my class in the summer. Other than that no exams (GOOD). Concentrate on the essays and do the homework. If you do not know the answer guess (put something). No book needed (GOOD). He has reviews online.

Interesting class. Professor has a thick accent, but otherwise a good class if you like lectures.
